With a full roster of players eligible to play this year (Wilson, Pipikis and Hughes. This team would be over .500.

 

A couple of known concepts:

 

1. It's hard to win with a freshman backcourt.

 

2. It's doubly hard to win with a freshman backcourt when the must play a full or near the entire 40 min. game.

 

3. Walk ons are not suppose to start and play almost the entire game at the DI level.

 

4. It's hard to win at the DI level with only 5 scholarship athletes.

 

5. It's hard to win with no senior leadership.

 

6. It's extremely hard to win with no C or PF over 6'6".

 

Of our last 7 games 6 have been winnable games that we have lost in the last 5 min. or less due to "stupid" (poor choice of words) mistakes, which go hand and hand with fatigue and inexperienced youth.

 

We have a team of 3 freshman, 2 sophs and 2 Jrs. one a first year walk on and the other who has been injured most of his first 2 years.

 

With all this said I truly believe you could not ask a group of guys to work harder. How often do you see a team who is 3-12 after 15 games go on the road and fall behind by 18 at the half come out and play hard enough to be up 3 with 22 seconds to go. The only lost this one because of a bad call with 5 seconds to go. The contact was minimal at the most and there should have been no call at that time of the game. We would have been up one with 5 seconds and we would have had to see what would transpire.

 

Hey I want "Ws" like everyone else but in the situation we're in I can't blame guys who day in and day out give you everything they have.

 

Keep it up Danes we can still steal a few!!!!!!!!

Not right Hartford plays 8 players - all are scholarship players. They have more guards than we do and more size. They have 2 AE victories in a row over teams which have beat us Stony Brook and Binghamton.

 

But if we play as we have over the past few weeks we should have an opportunity to get Ws against Hartford, UNH and Stony Brook.

 

The key word is "Opportunities".

Well, South End on the AE board said the Hawks had only 7 healthy bodies against Stony Brook. Either way, they won't be able to send in waves of subs.

They won't be able to run 10 or 11 guys at us.

 

Numbers wise we are both shorthanded.

 

The last 4 games Hartford has had 8,9,8 and 8 players in their official boxscore.
