I'm some what disappointed by seeing these numbers.

We really play in a terribly weak conference with 6 teams in the bottom 23 and though our record is pretty good and we're competing for the conference yearly we, the highest ranked team aren't even close to the middle of the pack.

I'm sure it has to do with scholarships but it also shows we're are not as good as we profess to be and I don't mean this in a degrading way. It seems that we give more aid than most the teams below us.

Don't worry much about this GPI, it's a combination of 10 rankings and polls (the polls put all unranked teams at 26). Look at the complete ranks - the PFL teams mentioned are ranked from 75 thru 89 in all the rankings except 'ASHBURN' which has them at 51-63 and has Duquesne at 71 (Albany at 79). Without this one poll the PFL teams would be much closer to us.

We're ahead of all but four 'mid-majors' and also ahead of about 19 Ivy or full-scholarship teams. We're about the 2/3 mark of all Div. I-AA, and the weakness of the conference hurts our ranking, not helps it.

Thanks UAalum72

I think I somewhat have an understanding of what you mean.

Damn, Basketball is so much easier with things like the RPI. Lump all 327 DIs together and rank them. We are 307, yep, that's poor.

Hopefully, we will turn this around and our goal for the next fews seasons is to get somewhere near 165. Vermont and BU are I believe 140 and 146 and I don't think it's unrealistic to use them as a target for NOW!!!

The GPI ARC takes 8 computer rankings throwing out the high and low to make the ARC avg. Albany is not getting votes in the two polls nor are any "mid-majors." So comparing among other like teams is probably the best way to measure the Danes.

74. San Diego (71.20)

79. Morehead St (74.88)

81. Dayton (75.98)

84. Duquesne (79.99)

85. Albany (80.09)

88. Monmouth (81.31)

90. Valparaiso (84.12)

98. Drake (91.41)

105. Jacksonville (94.33)

106. Wagner (97.30)

107. Sacred Heart (97.76)

108. Iona (99.26)

110. Austin Peay (100.40)

111. Davidson (101.00)

113. Marist (103.60)

114. Central Conn (104.15)

115. Butler (105.92)

117. St Peter's (107.93)

119. La Salle (109.92)

120. St Francis (109.94)

123. Siena (114.59)

BTW, the GPI does lump all I-AA together and measures how they do against other classifications as well.
