Ralph Watts

Recommended Posts

Courtesy of AL....apparently we've offered Ralph Watts from downstate....a couple of clips that I easily located.

ESPN says...."June, 2008: Watts is a guard with good size who can put it on the floor. Although he has an above average handle, the real reason why he is able to get to the rim consistently is because he has a long first step and strides out all the way to the rim. Watts can also make open jumpers from the perimeter, especially when pulling up off the dribble around 15 feet. His mechanics are a little skewed as he releases the ball behind his head, shoots it a little flat, and often times lacks rotation on the ball. However, that high release point allows him to get his shot off with very little separation from his defender. Overall, a solid offensive player who is a definite division I prospect."

Some notes from Yahoo about a couple of guys we're pursing at the AAU Nationals in Orlando

"Martin Brothers Select always play well in Orlando and things are moving along smoothly for wing Nate Hutcheson. The 6-foot-6 guard scored 15 points for his club in a hard fought win over the Westchester Hawks.

He buried a couple of threes, attacked the rim for scores and showed off his ball-handling and basketball smarts. Mid-level schools dot his list with Albany (offer), Saint Louis (offer), Toledo (offer), Northern Iowa, Wichita State, Drake and Iowa State in hot pursuit, he said."

"# Zach Bohannan, a 6-foot-7 combo forward for Martin Brothers, is holding offers from Albany, Bucknell and the Air Force while Cornell and Columbia are also sniffing around."
