Last night we received our first verbal commitment for the 2010 class. I can’t mention the name but we are excited! The young man is a 6’10 center from Iowa and he is going to play his senior season and then do a post graduate year at a prep school in New England. We are back in business in the state of Iowa! Hopefully we will get a few more in our 2009 class! How about the New York Jets? As a New Yorker you have to love the signing of Brett Favre. The guy was the runner-up for the MVP of the NFL last year. He definitely brings some excitement to the New York Jets organization. Now they just need to win some games. Only if it was that easy.

I guess if he's excited we should be too!!!???

Is this the 1st time we've offered and got a commitment for 2 years down the road from a recruit?

Albany has received a commitment from 6-10 Jon Puk from Waterloo, IA West. Puk has committed to take a year of prep school after his senior year at West and will become a part of the Class of 2010.

Puk currently weighs between 210-215 pounds, but his best playing days are ahead of him, he could add 20-plus pounds between now & the time he enrolls at Albany. He has a soft shooting touch and is a good shot blocker with quick feet and good bounce. He did a solid job with the Martin Brothers Select squad this summer drawing in lots of interest. ~ Van Coleman, Hoopmasters.com
