mens lacrosse vs Syracuse

Surprising Mark S has an article in today's paper about tonights game.

Also posted yesterday in the Syracuse Post Standard.

Also for those that like to project a bracket, inside lacrosse has an 4/15 version up.

This is far more reasonable than having Lunardis bracket up for now for 3 reasons.

1 Lacrosse has played most of the season already

2 They have explanations.

3 The primary purpose seems to be providing information rather than changing versions excessively to brag about how many teams were picked accurately.

Obviously , they have UA on the outside looking in at this point.

Reminder, todays game is on TW3 at 7PM. . . .

I saw virtually no hope for UA tonight against Syracuse, especially after the loss against UMBC last weekend.

The Danes acquitted themselves well tonight. They did lose, but only by a score of 15-13. Perhaps someone who followed the game more closely can relate more of how close the game actually was.

Well it depends if your glass is half full or half empty.

The Cuse outscored UA 5-1 in each of the first 2 quarters for a 10-2 half time lead. UA rallied in the 3rd out scoring them 8-1 in to make it 11-10. Goals by Caufield,Cornetti, Cushing, 2 for Small and then 2 for Resetarits, Small again.

Syracuse got a flukish goal to open the 4th and then added 2 more quick goals to make it 14-10 2 minutes into the 4th. The flukish goal was when the cuse player stick checked the UA defense 6 seconds in while he was trying to control the faceoff and make a pass to the goalie who step out of the goal.

The cuse won the first 7 faceoffs and Albany won something like 10 of the next 14.

UA has a lot of young players with talent that can play with anyone when they are on. But like a lot of young teams they struggle at times. Hopefully the 2nd half and especially the 3rd quarter carry over to Sunday.

The recap from both webites and Syracuse post standard
