Villanova?

I just got home during Wyland's segment of tonight's news, and I may have heard this wrong, but did he report that we will play Villanova next season and were trying to schedule Miami?

Also reported that DePaul is a possible opponent next year. Hopefully some of these teams will come here to play as well.

Wouldnt be suprised about MIAMI or NOVA. Jay Wright coached in the AE and we have three PENN kids. Miami is probably an alumni game. We played a few times in the DIII and DII years down there. DePaul....I JUST DONT GET. The Miami game is winnable....they are terrible. NOVA...will be a very, very good team next year.

Money Games are important for Albany.

 

Villanova is a "No Brainer" - Big East - relatively close, inexpensive trip to PA - good for parents and friends of Wyatt, Iati and Bauman as well as the NY corp of players.

 

DePaul - mid west - easy access from Albany Airport - Lillis and B. Wilson may be the start of more Mid Western recruiting. DePaul also loses 2 of its starting front line.

 

Miami - warm weather, good recruiting tool - weaker ACC school.

 

Bottom line we will probably play only 2 money games - and money games are important to help fund the program.

 

Albany has to move around every year so that its name becomes nationally recognizable when recruiting.
