Couple of notes - based on some of the comments in the blog:

1. Brown wasn't an assistant at Pitt - I believe he was offered the position but instead chose to go to Albany.

Just discovered this yesterday, thanks to Brian.

 

I thought the TU wrote that Coach Brown was an assistant for 3 days and then offered the job,. Either way, it is true-- he never served as an asst. during a game under Howland. Good point.

 

The game was on Fox Sports Pacific, so it was blacked out for those of us without that package. I get every other TWC package, except for the one that offers Fox Sports Pacific. Would've been nice to see the game get local coverage, that's all.

 

Thanks for the clarifications-- I'll make a note of 'em.

He was offered the director of basketball operations job - which is the non-coaching, non-traveling position. He chose UAlbany to be the top assistant and be able to recruit and travel.
