#103279 [MBB] Game #3: 11/17/17 - 7:00pm - vs Yale

Game Day!

#103191 [FB] Game 11 - vs New Hampshire - 11/18 - 1PM

Posted by godanesgo99 on 14 November 2017 - 08:16 PM

It depends on weather for me. Was going to use it as an excuse to get drunk in the parking lot in the AM, but my seats may get left unused.

I want to support the program, but I just don't know if it's worth it.

#103021 MBB Game #1: 11/10/17, 7:00pm - vs. Iona (0-0 MAAC) @ SEFCU

Posted by godanesgo99 on 11 November 2017 - 10:57 AM

I thought we might see some Cochran or Healy last night to match up with the speed of Iona.

Glad to see Costa Anderson getting meaningful minutes. The Iona board is lit up about how poorly they shot from 3, but we threw a lot of bricks last night as well. We will need to shoot the ball better from the outside if this team is going to beat UVM.

Biggest positive from the night had to be Greig Stire. He was an absolute BULL last night. Im excited to see his development. If he can keep that up, along with the power of Foster and finesse of Charles, the bigs can be a major strength of the team. Once Hank gets up to speed and earns some trust, they will be exciting.

Conway was pretty good, but he seems like more of a 3 than a 4.

Screboard was great, but still no stats, no who is in the game, no who has how many fouls..

LMAO - goto the 5:50 mark of the video/audio above

"I think it's Important that I am a very calming influence on our team on Friday night. I don't think that we as coaches realize how much of an impact we have on how our guys play and respond based on our actions on the sidelines. So I need to stay composed and make sure our team is composed"

Shot thrown at the clown at LCC and his ability to get T's in an exhibition game? I love it!

I think it was Drexel based on that image on twitter someone shared (scrimmage schedule)

It looks like it was at Drexel...

#102870 [FB] Game 9 - @ Stony Brook - 11/4 - 1PM

Posted by godanesgo99 on 04 November 2017 - 03:03 PM

6 total losses

3 losses by a total of 11 points (3,6,2 respectively)
1 loss by 7 in OT
2 losses by 14 each (one to a FBS team)

To me this means the talent is there, but they are either missing coaching, the killer instinct, or a combo of the 2

I just bought 4 additional tickets (to my 4 season tix) a few days ago and I'll say it looked light on the site. Section 200 was pretty full, just random seats available, nothing together except in the back, but 150 and 250 were fairly empty. No problem getting 4 seats together real close.

I didn't look in the gray or on the other side, but let's just say I hope the sales pick up as game day approaches. Iona is a great home game.

Season and home opener against what appears to be the top team in the MAAC.

Will be a tough game to start the season.

#102720 10/28 MBB Exhibition Hurricane Relief (UA @ WV)

Posted by godanesgo99 on 29 October 2017 - 10:57 AM

Obviously didn't watch, but I love the expanded stats above and how they tell a story:

  • How many games did UA have 4 blocked shots last year? - Positive
  • 12-26 on layups? - Negative
  • 14 Seconds per possession tells me they were trying to run with WVU - Negative
  • 2 Point guards fouling out sounds like frustration with a press - Negative
  • 12 Offensive rebounds and only 8 second chance points hurts - Negative
  • Hank didn't get in the game. Factor of being young, or is this what to expect this season? - Question
  • Cremo 4-13 for field goals = ouch, but 3-7 on 3pt is a decent sign
  • Not going to win any games with 24 turnovers - but in reality WVU forced 20 per game last season leading the NCAA. 24 might be a positive here.

#102606 2017-18 MBB Schedule

Posted by godanesgo99 on 27 October 2017 - 05:45 PM

Instead of not streaming the scrimmage, maybe they should have made it a pay-per-view in order to generate even more money to support the hurricane victims

I've suggested that before on twitter, and I'll second this suggestion. I'd pay to watch.

#102453 Oct 22 - MBB & WBB Meet and Greet

Posted by godanesgo99 on 18 October 2017 - 03:04 PM

I remember how much I hated Trimboli for his behavior in the last minute of the game. I mean, the game is over. I do not see any shot of a miracle come back when down 17, under 1:00 to play, and the home team has put in its bench to end the game. Hard Fouls? Attempting to steal while they are running down the final shot clock?

Never give up, but at some point reality has to hit.
