My only complaint yesterday was the same one I had last season. The way they handle concessions is extremely inefficient. They should separate the cashiers from the people ordering food like they do in SEFCU and at venues like the TUC. Lines would move faster, people wouldnt hate waiting in line, and more food/beverages would be sold.
You want to know what would help attendance WAY more than dropping prices? If the die hards made it a point to bring someone who has never been to at least 1 game a year.
I brought 2 people yesterday that I had given tickets away to at a business event. It was both of their first times. Both of them were amazed at the environment and what had been built. Both will be back to future games on their own dime.
Yes, the school could always do more to pump attendance, but the fans and donors could do more as well.
At 90 percent capacity (At least). Ur missing the point . U must be very wealthy . Haha . Because ur acting like a client that made 25 percent last quarter on his money but wonders why 1 stock went down. Haha . Jk
I'm far from wealthy lol. I just understand value and economics. The valley cats play 7x as many home games. That's a lot of games to defray the cost of facilities.
I also know that if UA reduced prices by 33% they probably would not increase attendance by 33%. Actually one could argue that they could increase costs by another 33% and I don't think it would cause a 33% dip in attendance.
I still can't get over the people complaining about the product being overpriced. It's cheaper than $iena Basketball tickets, you get hours of tailgating, a top level game, relatively cheap concessions, a halftime fireworks display, and a big pregame party.
Football is an expensive sport to run, and with only 5 home games and no major national cable deal, I'm surprised the product is as cheap as it is.
$iena offered 6'8" Sy Chatman from Minnesota. Maybe we should reach out. LMAO. He has offers from Bryant and Northeastern. If we don't like him, maybe we can get Bing, Hartford, or Maine to offer him. The America East keeps stealing their targets. No reason to let that stop now!
Nice signing. Other offers were Boston University, St. Joe's, Loyola, Columbia, Robert Morris, Mt. St. Mary's, SBU, and others. He will have one year probably not playing a ton, but could be a great 1-2 with Healy.
well UA lost to the National Champions...takes the sting out a little.
This goes back to the horrible job the seeding committee did. By most accounts, Maryland was the favorite to win it all, and then most people had either Syracuse or UAlbany as the second favorite. The seeds should have better reflected that reality. One reputable website had UA as the overall favorite, followed by Maryland, stating that the national champs would be decided in the 1v8 game. It looks like that came true.
I am a LAX newb so I can't even pretend to know what I am talking about, beyond everything I read, but I would think that a strong case could be made to revise the selection criteria after this years tournament.
GAMEDAY!!!! How bad of a father would I be if I stayed home from son's baseball game to watch this? kidding of course. Phone will be shut off and game will be DVRed. Expect some late posts from me after watching the game after it is over.
You can watch live from your phone on the watchespn app. Multitask!
I don't know enough about lax to comment, but I had the same feeling in the second half that I did during the collapse the basketball team had at SBU this year. Albany seemed to be content and was playing not to lose. Trying to run the clock instead of keeping the plan and attacking the goal.
That said, amazing game, amazing crowd braving the rain, and a huge win.
