  1. It's called a morals clause. He admitted to inappropriate conduct, Did the act he admitted to rise to a level of breaching that clause can be determined by the evidence. My hope is that the University, in its due diligence has determined that the act was not to that level.
  2. The team is definitely over this year...and it's a shame. I hope Beagle stays because in this era of transfers, Albany can be a top 3 team within a year or two. His numbers and Drumgoole are obscene for effectively 1st year, full-time guys: Beagle: 12ppg, 6.8 RPG, 1.9 ASS; 51.6% FG Drumgoole: 14.7ppg; 5.3RPG; 2.5 ASS; 35.5% FG. And the FG percentage is definitely due to doing too much and tired legs (also some bad shots). I think that number is probably in the low 40's if he was playing normal minutes.
  3. Disagree on Drumgoole. Remember, this is a kid who is basically playing his first FULL D1 year due to injuries and covid. He's absolutely exhausted and playing 40 min a game, which is obscene. Drumgoole at 28-32 min a game is a 2nd team player in this league.
  4. Let me simplify it for you, as I have been staying quiet for a bit: TERRIBLE COACHING. Full Stop, end discussion. At 400k, we should not be in the business of letting a coach figure out how to coach at the D1 level. I totally agree that a healthy Amica, Neely, and a head on straight Little would give us a boost...but it is a boost that is about 2 spots.
  5. Well, must be because every single FBS Power 5 school has a either a game scheduled on 9/2 or are already at the 12 game max limit (if 9/2 is open to them). So maybe they are hoping a school buys out another school or pushes the game out another year and we get the slot. Right now, it is a no-go per the schedules currently listed (at the Power 5 level).
  6. Inaccurate. That just means eligibility to play in ncaa tournament games. Albany had similar restrictions though I think our transition was credited based on our planned move from 3 to 1. I think our total transition from D2 to D1 was three years to be tourney eligible. I could be wrong and it was the full 4. That said, we played d1 basketball in our first year. and for the record, quoting Bryant’s wiki page isn’t a great move. Their use of the words full fledged is not in the manner you think it is.
  7. Only one part of that is accurate. Playing in tourney eligibility. They have been full fledged since 2008 from a recruiting perspective. No different then we were or ‘Merrimack or bellermine. Believe me, I was at their games. They had d1 talent. The transition rule is in place for one very important reason: eligibility levels at d2 are less strict than d1. You can bring in athletes who may not have been directly eligible at d1 when the player was recruited. It’s why you see d2 jump ups do well in their first years, in some instances. The ncaa didn’t want that benefit to cause a bunch of schools to jump.
  8. Not sure what you are talking about...Bryant has been D1 now 15 years. They are not relatively new and they basically have zero admission standards for the basketball team. The team is INSANELY experienced. They have won close to 30 conference titles prior to their AE move (the athletics department) at the D1 level. Memphis, URI, La Salle, GW, Stony Brook/Bucknell (Latimer); St Francis, Hofstra, East Carolina, St Peters. That's the bulk of their minutes...and the schools they used to play for prior to Bryant. Bryant is a transfer merchant school.
  9. Take it ease.... (italian-american brooklyn accent). LOL. He was a walk-on who just received a scholarship this year and was the third string QB. He is talented but the job is Poffs and I don't think he's worrying. We clearly need a REALLY, REALLY good backup and this kid is light years ahead of the QBs we had on the roster last year.
  10. Trey Lindsey committed. One year QB transfer that will be Poffs backup. Former Auburn walk on that earned a scholly this year. Nice signing.
  11. Cannon for an arm. Absolutely inaccurate with his passes. Great kid.
  12. The extra game waiver isn’t granted until it is definite that you play the team. Hawaii could have bought us out prior to this year. my guess is Albany is looking for another fbs buy game to pay the bills.
  13. He is a 2-10 guy. 2 good plays and 8 awful, awful, awful, basketball plays. Patel just saved him.
  14. I think this kid is a big time sleeper. He will likely RS if he comes to us, which is perfect.
  15. Tell me again how our coach knows how to put a TEAM or GAMEPLAN together. Yes, having Neely out is one thing...but it would not radically change the tide of this team. Sorry, been watching for two years and see limited strategy and coaching on the fly. We are VERY similar to St. John's. Lot's of individual talent and athletes...but is is like food shopping while hungry. Ya end up with a ribeye, cookies, cake, apples, mustard, and caviar. All good or fancy things individually, together a disaster unless a master chef knows how to craft something out of it. I think DK will be a very good coach in due time...right now he is not justifying a 400k a year salary (with bonus) as a D1 HC.
  16. Luke Fizulich. It is a bad take on Black Lives Matter, Blue Live Matter, etc. This is going after DK...and I think it is absolutely stupid.
  17. Updated Transfer List: Carino- QB Szalwoski- QB Blanton- RB Brandan Jiminez- WR Rob Jackson- DL Jacob Hargreaves- DB Devante Ford- DB Andy Ambroise- DB Brendan Durken- LS Jack Barnum- K To me Hargreaves and Ford are interesting. They received significant playing time but our pass defense was poor...so not sure what to make of those two. Jack Barnum is a surprise- highly touted kicker and only a freshman. Jiminez wasn't going to break into the WR core, IMHO, for significant minutes. While Poff is amazing, we need a really capable backup...so, we are going to have swing big. Blanton was not going to see significant time, which he likely expected he would after transferring from UCONN. He has a year left.
