  1. So Broadview gets BU, Dartmouth, and Sacred Heart, plus a TBD against a D2 or D3. Not exciting for packing the place.
  2. Seton Hall is a big time Power basketball team. The BE is a top 3, if not top 2 conference this year.
  3. Ok...that's what I thought too. LOL. That's exactly what I found as well. The new number of 7 came from the NCAA. I will go with my original. Overall, I think Albany prefers it's out of conference affiliation with the CAA. So if there is a slot, I would presume we take it.
  4. You are correct. I just looked. At one point there were 10. 7 now.
  5. Agreed. Was discussing this a few CAA folks. Most of NU’s meets are local. Albany has enough comp to not have to leave New England and MAAC territory. So to be attached to the CAA just for the championship may not be a necessary thing. They said, I think the MAAC has 10 schools. Not sure if adding another is too many for them.
  6. Head of the fish is awesome. But head of Charles is next level. I literally live about a five minute walk from the finish line. Anyone who hasn’t been, should come if we participate I expect us to participate.
  7. Announcement was made a little while ago, women’s rowing is the official 19th sport of the University. This is an excellent move by the athletic department.
  8. That said, I do believe this is a mostly "sham" case.
  9. That's your expert legal advice? I specifically refer to your first point as incorrect, so the rest is incorrect. And before you have a snarky answer, I am pretty familiar as to the process of defense for a public entity in NYS and when the AG's office has the "total" authority to step in and make decisions on the behalf of the University. I will make this short and sweet for you: your statement is incorrect, and the University does have some latitude here on settlement.
  10. That's a two-three week delay. Jeesh.
  11. Bob, do you like small hikes at all? If so, Manoa Falls is a really easy and pretty hike about 10 min from campus. If anyone else is going to this game, I have a host of Oahu and Maui experience, can give advice on some to do's based on activity level / wishes.
  12. Question: has anyone come across what Phase 2 of the PE building is going to be about? I see general comments about programming for recreation and athletics. But what does it really mean. In my mind, there are four massively important projects. The indoor facility, the phase 2 cote work on SEFCU, the PE building phase 2 (presuming it frees up space elsewhere), and the end zone facility for football.
  13. Yes for first part. Second part is slightly debatable. Spoke to a major in executive in the world of sports (very, very high up the food chain and former head of a major nyc pro sports group (he’s a very close friend of family). He said overall, naming rights have decreased but for the sole exception of major sports brands (pro and top college teams). The current value of the 2006 deal would be just over 414k today. The exec told me a great sefcu deal would have been about 350-375. His opinion is that this deal is a good deal these days in that SEFCU provides other opportunities for the school. I have zero issues with the value of this deal.
  14. It has been reported that the SEFCU / Broadview naming rights were re-upped for 2,75 million over 10 years. Starting this fall.
  15. Cooper Flagg may not play college ball. He likely will for a year but may even go to the NBL or something. Scout after scout predicts there hasn’t been a recruit of this profile in decades. Think Jordan, Lebron, Kobe, etc. he’s next level and nba ready as a jurnior but for strength. if he goes to college, it’s Duke. End discussion It’s his dream school. Rumors he may partner up with another generational talent: Cameron Boozer. Carlos’ kid. Both are light years ahead of this years number 1 pick.
  16. That’s an optical illusion. Seats will go down to baseline.
  17. All true however, the bigger connection is through Jamie. Her uncle is Brian Beaury.
