Word is the Pac12-MW merger might do a relagation setup. SDSU and NDSU will be brought in to do a 16 school setup
Word from where?

Albany had a bunch of recruits there today...good stuff.

Sam Herder is usually very much on the money, and he has us as the #4 seed, which means if we win two games...we would face SDSU in the semis. He has Nova as a 6. He has Idaho as #5, which means they would come to Casey presuming we win our first game. We play @ Idaho next year.

BTW, Benson is on the selection committee

Pretty sure I read recently that the auto bid has nothing to do with seeding??
Correct...but it is about optics.

So I take it there is no shot for a bye now without the auto-bid or only teams that get that auto-bid get the bye?
I think there were some very helpful losses today (specifically Furman). I think Albany and 'Nova get a seed. I think 'Nova gets a higher seed because of their pedigree...and I think we get 8, which isn't great because that means if we get past the first game we play, we are off to SDSU in the Final 8. The 7th slot is more preferable as SDSU is literally unbeatable right now.
-
Nova getting the autobid is truly obscene...but I still don't think they get a seed without us getting a seed considering we beat them. Who knows.
Co-champs it is.

I think if that kid caught the two pt conversion they would've got another shot because Richmond would've had to accept the holding penalty.
Correct.

How can such a smart school be so effing dumb.
That game was for a playoff bid for W&M. Mind blowing.
-
omg...they may go for two? And the game is over...
WHAT THE ACTUAL Bing Bing
-
TOUCHDOWN TRIBE!!!!! Just need the XP and overtime.
-
COME THE FUUUUUUUUCK ON Tribe...
-
OMG...holding with no time on the clock. One more play, from the two yard line.
-
FUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
W&M drops a ball in the endzone. one last play
-
W&M is driving with 30 seconds left. Have opportunity to tie the game with Richmond....would be game changing.

I really hope you are right because Delaware was driving for a garbage time TD to give UA the points differential and their third string freshman QB threw a pick 6.
Knowing the CAA, I think you are right...since the league is a cluster. Would be awful. I just don't know how that is logically right if three teams are tied but two played each other...then that other team should be out.

According to the announcement pasted above I don't think that is the case. If there is a three way tie with Richmond, Albany and Nova, the win against Nova means nothing since they didn't all play each other and they go to pt differential. And with the max of 21 pts per game in differential, Albany can only get to a +113.
Ahhh...interesting...also not how it was explained to me by someone in the CAA office. That would be absolute crap.
-
Albany absolutely mauls Monmouth...finishes 5-0 at home overall, 4-0 in the CAA at home, 7-1 in the CAA.
Per my understanding of how things will work out based on the Richmond-W&M scores and 'Nova-UD, the Spiders, Danes, and Wildcats are (at the time of typing) co-champs however, Albany receives the autobid due to our win over 'Nova and a massive point differential advantage over the Spiders in CAA scoring.
Congrats to the Danes...and credit where it is due, Coach Gatttuso and his staff...who many of us have been hard on...have put together an incredibly close-knit and great football team. First CAA title for Albany and did it with 6 early season starters out for the season, staggered from Game 1-4. -

If I have this right...
Here are the pt differentials right now:Nova 96+21 = 117
UA 92+21 = 113
Need a garbage time TD by Delaware.
The Delaware score is irrelevant. We finish ahead of 'Nova due to head to head. It comes down to us and Richmond if Richmond holds. We dominate them in that scenario.
-
Per my understanding, if things hold, Albany, Nova, and Richmond all finish in first and 7-1.
Since none of the three faced each other and all three beat their only common opponents, Albany will get the autobid due to their win over 'Nova and with Richmond only having a +62 point differential in CAA games with Albany having a +136 point differential. My point differential might be SLIGHLY off.
If Albany gets the autobid, I'd be highly surprised if the committee doesn't seed UA as the #7 or #8 team, particularly with some scores around the FCS (Southern).

Went to the bag of tricks twice….I like it! But OMG….Wyland is a buffoon. Either that or he needs new glasses.
Was thinking the same thing about Wyland. Definitely has gotten better since the late 90's however, he's still more of a fanboy announcer than an announcer.
His broadcast partner is excellent.

Makes you wonder, why this was not caught sooner and how did are staff realize there was a problem?
These things are regularly caught late. This is not on the staff.

Giralt is redshirting, and has not practiced at all. In fact, he may never play again. They discovered a heart condition when he arrived on campus. Very sad, as he is a talented kid.
Ughh...feel terrible for him.

Is the best they can do a tie? or if Villanova and WM win, do the Danes get it because they beat Nova?
Correct, we win the CAA.
Monmouth WILL NOT be easy, yet we will take the title if we win and Delaware loses. That simple.

No. If they follow years past decisions, they would play Lafayette.
