Fans turned out. The play was pretty atrocious. Long season.

Amazing that it’s less than an hour before tip and there’s less than 3 pages of discussion. Where has everyone gone or weren’t here just not many on this forum.

To not support a program because of a coaching change is nuts. I hope to see the fans up there give this program the support they deserve.

I truly hope we have a very good crowd tonight. Coach has done his absolute best to get the community and the students involved.
It said in the times union there are only around 350 season ticket holders. That is pathetic. This administration gets worse and worse each year.
If they come tonight, it's his job to put on a show.
I guess we will know in a few hours.
What was the number of season ticket holders from previous years? I’m sure some are not yet comfortable with returning due to Covid and some WB loyalists over the university’s basketball program.

all-around you might be right, but when looking at the roster there is no traditional division 1 center. No one at 6'10" or higher. Don't think that matters that much as we have size top to bottom.
That traditional center has disappeared in basketball, but yes all around this team has size.

This has gotta be one of the biggest lineups on height wise on paper for Albany ever.

No. The ticket site for Tuesday game still shows "baseline club" behind the basket nearest to the parking lot
So Albany will be shooting at that basket in the second half now?

Just looked it up now. Website has been updated. Interesting. I had my seats in the same spot since 1999. The benches moved once before early in coach Brown's tenure. I didn't move then and I am not moving now. But I won't experience again the fans from South eastern NY line up besides me to storm the court and then immediately clear the aisle so I had extra space to celebrate Peter Hooley's basket. 🍺🍺
So are they finally pulling the bleachers back out on that side then? Even when there were fans two seasons ago they pushed them in and turned it into a hospitality area which made zero sense.

NO!!! Not so quickly on trying to move on when this is unresolved business. I can safely say most of his players and the fans in the stands cannot move on until Coach Brown is inducted into the UAlbany Athletic Hall of Fame. Five trips to the NCAA DI Tournament has earned him this right and privilege. Now, this may not happen under Benson's watch....but this will happen!!!
There will be a time and place for that way down the road for that stuff. Right now I would guess he wants ZERO to do with this program and would in fact want to see it go 0-29.

Anyone know why UA scrimmages are always closed & always a SECRET? While lcc scrimmages are called exhibitions, charge admission & reported on in TU??
Believe they were playing at St Joe’s

Any word on how the team looked at their scrimmage?

The city rocks connection seems to be the real deal

This is a huge signing. I don’t think it is comparable to any other recruit from the previous era. Suero and Harris were transfers. This is an incoming freshman with an actual ACC offer and interest from another.

Is the Lasalle game a money game or a home/home? That's a good middle of the pack A10 team typically.

Hadn't put 2 and 2 together. Season opener is at home and vs. Antonio Rizzuto. Does he get cheered or booed?
I personally will root for him to have a great game in a losing effort.
Golf clap. Anything more than that is overboard.

Neely is clearly the highest regarded HS recruit Albany has ever snagged since my time following.
Offers from Temple, VCU, and Washington State.

Official announcement. Sounds like he's awesome from head to toe..including his hair...but is anyone worried about the first line? "for the 2021-2022 season". That's odd language for me.
ALBANY, N.Y. – Justin Neely, a 6-5 wing from West Oaks Academy in Miami, Fla., has signed a national letter of intent to join the UAlbany men's basketball team under new head coach Dwayne Killings for the 2021-22 season.
"We are ecstatic about welcoming Justin into our program and into our family," said Killings. "When we identify talent, we are looking for versatile, hard-working, and committed young men to help change the mentality of our program. Justin is all that and more. He has excelled in the classroom and those same habits have given him immense success on the court. Justin is a winner and we can't wait for our fan base to welcome Justin and his family to the Capital Region."
"I am excited to join the UAlbany family," said Neely. "This is a wonderful opportunity for me to not only receive a great education but work with a great coaching staff and with players who share the same goals. It is even more special because this is Coach Killings' first season, and I will get to be a part of the foundation of excellence and championship tradition that he is building at UAlbany. I am blessed to have this opportunity and am looking forward to meeting everyone."
Neely averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in three games for West Oaks during the COVID-19-affected 2020-21 season. As a junior, Neely averaged 27.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 6.4 assists in 24 appearances. In his career, Neely has shown the ability to hit shots from multiple spots on the floor, as well as the ability to guard four positions. He plans to pursue a degree in Business and holds a 4.0 GPA, and was the first student-athlete at his high school to be named valedictorian.Meh not really. At this point I don’t really expect players to stay for four years at this level anymore if they clearly can play up.

Congrats. Worked under their new coach at LIU in the past.

So much shade in one tweet lol. Gotta do what you gotta do. Simply could have omitted one sentence from that.

I feel like attendance will be alright. Sefcu didn’t look half bad with it filled. They added the purple lights on the concourse which looked great and obviously the new court. People are antsy and definitely looking to get out and watch some college basketball.
