Agreed. Definitely been a good watch as a fan and great season for the team. I'm not ready to stop being critical of extensions in the past, but definitely on the road to changing my tune. While he needs a few years of success to get off the proverbial hot seat, my hat is off to the season they are having and I look forward to eating crow if sustained improvement can happen.

Yeah, there should be no talk of extension until he can have more then 2 good seasons in a decade. We'll see how the rest of this one goes but this is a conversation for a different time.

  2. I've been EXTREMELY critical of Gattuso...I've been watching quietly all season. They have done an incredible job with this team. If he deserved the ridicule of past years, the deserves credit for thisl Good for him...probably the best team I've ever seen in my 20 years of watching UA football. Poff is real difference makers and has incredible weapons to toss to. Oline giving him time...defense pins ears back and goes.

    This is a good product!

I thought on paper we were supposed to be better than last year by long shot?

It always looks on paper that we are supposed to be better...and then the season comes. I have low expectations...I think something like 10-12 wins and 6-8 in conference are best case.

Neely is coming off a serious injury and not having played for a lone time. We haven't had a PG worth a damn in many years...maybe the Providence kid can help there. Coaching is suspect although I like the addition of the UB guy.

Gonna be a year trying to figure out if we've found a bottom or sink to new lows.

No need to send out a search party for me. I'm still around.

Yank, I did respond to your messages. Not sure why you didn't see them but I will check again. Hopefully you don't give us a lousy Yelp review.

You're right about not seeing me at UA events. I haven't been going as much lately and probably won't in the near future. It's not a statement about the administration or anything. Recent life events have made me reshuffle priorities. Sports are great, but they are the dessert in life, not the main course. I've had to skip dessert recently and likely will for a while.

Eli, you are more than welcome to build another forum with a similar mission. I'll keep this one up until you do and then pull the plug when you're done.

DP, I hope everything works out. I've spent a lot of good and probably not so good times in my younger (immature)  days here but always appreciated having a place to go. Thank you.

Not that the offense didn't do well, they did fine but the 3 TO's made this closer than it should of been. As great as our D is we cant always lean on them this much. Between Morgan State and Towson we need to give them a week off so to speak. That last drive had to be exhausting having them go all the way down to the 1 and stopping them!! That game should of been at least 27-9 or 27-17. I love that this year we are bitching about wins hahahahah!

Poff's interception wasn't horrible...yes he underthrew it but I believe it was 3rd down and not close to a 1st down...by yardages probably as good or better then a punt.

Whitesell has had way more success at a higher level program than DK has had. So unless there’s friction, you’d have to think this is a good addition for the program. It also puts someone in place who could step up if DK craters again and winds up being shown the door. So it seems like a win to me, but what do I know?

I'm a fan of this hire, the criticism has been that DK doesn't have anyone on the bench with significant experience...he now does...a guy who was a HC, winning record at a better conference and program. This is a good seasoned pick-up.

  7. Wish this could get settled before season starts up to and including pay this kid who didn't get a scholarship and sued to go away. There will be a price to pay for striking a kid so just pay it if possible. Unless there was no physical contact, in that case stand firm on principal but we all know something likely happened.

In the interest of the school and program, close the book on this sordid chapter ASAP and move on. That way the alleged victim can move on with his life, the coaches, kids and school can move on.
