No matter the outcome .... recruitment and recruitment retention is the going to be important.... I have not seen any comments on Jonathan Beagle in a while.... Is he still in our camp? .... can he be legally lured away?

No . He signed his letter of intent. He is here.  I also believe that the transfer portal will be so big in the upcoming weeks that Killings does not want to waste a scholarship until we see who is in there.

Oh please....you two polyanas and pretend coaches are the HOF equivalent on the basketball side. Yeah he's telling them not to run sets...except for games then win when they run sets ...it's a talentless team that can't execute anything basic in terms of gameplan. Or is it your position that game to game DK knows and then forgets to coach and run sets... embarrassed for you two.

Now the 2nd half has not been coaching, just really bad bad players.  They have done a much better job, getting the ball down low, getting cerutti open looks (running plays for him). They just stink. So we can give the coaching staff credit for at least doing something.

The question that needs to be asked is why hasn’t there been an upward arc in coaching? First time out as a head coach, I get that. Defense is great. The rest ought to be improving by the time you get 30 games in, right? It looked like a capable group of assistant coaches. Why does it seem that the learning curve stopped dead? Or it it just that the players have failed to grasp what they are being told? Or just that they are that untalented?

I would say a combination of all 3 . Some on this board believe it's all lack of talent. But that's just not correct . We need to give Killings the year because these are not his guys. Let's see what he does next year.  That will be a telling point.

No it's not....look who they are running out there. It's a miracle this team isn't dead last...when this team that lacks talent is winning...DK can coach...when they aren't...DK forgets how to coach?

The above is a complete lack of basketball knowledge . No offense . Not even a little . D1 teams run sets . Sets- are plays, or rotations . This is not happening.  I agree the players are not very good but the lack of sets is astounding. No adjustments.  No timeouts to correct it.  I stand by my post of poor coaching.

And anyone thinking Killings is ready for UMASS (as some have stated elsewhere), this is a game that shows he is NOT ready for that kind of jump yet.  Absolutely ZERO adjustments with this team in the first half...ZERO!  I still like him as a coach...but he is not doing much this half to bring his team up to a level it needs to be.

Completely agree.  Perfect post . Hopefully he gets his guys who can put the ball in the basket and we will see something different.

Did you forget UA was 4-8 at home .... and 8-8 on the road....lol so get those sneakers on and drive to Hartford to see if Killings will let you play

No eligibility left.  Haha . Played 4 years at UA though.

We finished dead last in the AE in points per game. Slightly better than average on the defensive end.

Hopefully they play well tomorrow. If Hartford hits their 3's we probably have no shot.

The only reason that is a better much up for UAlbany, is that the game is on the road.  Will UAlbany play a better defense against Hartford on the road.

Wrong again.  They would have been on the road against New Hampshire or Hartford. So once again your posts make no sense. My point is that IN MY OPINION, I would rather play Hartford than New Hampshire on THE ROAD.

  8. I am most certainly not saying it's a win because we can lose to anyone in the league and proved that,  however Hartford is the better match up for us. I know they are getting healthy but I still like the match-up. If they shoot lights out we have no shot against anyone, mostly because we can't score the ball.

We will see what happens but I'm hoping DK plays Perry instead of Newman. That will spread the defense and give us a better shot of defending the 3 point shot.

  9. Good news : we are not a good team . If u told me we would get 9 wins with this team I would have signed up for that.

Bad news: DK coaching these last few games.

I don't want to say that without giving my opinion.

Hutch should be playing 3/4 of the time over Reddish

Neely should be playing 3/4 of the time over Newman.

Doles should be playing more of the 5. What's happening is Newman and Champion can't shoot.  So they are really playing off them not allowing the others to score.  The fact he does not see that is mildly alarming .

I have always said I will give DK the year and I will. However he will get his guys in here next year and I expect marked improvement.

Really don't like how DK coached himself out of momentum...went way to long with ineffective Reddish and Newman. I know guys need rest but you can't have those two on the court for to long...

I have questioned DK's rotations for the last 4 games or so.  Would love to know why Reddish plays more then Neely . Maybe Neely doesn't have the legs but damn. Newman, especially with Perry back should see about 3 mins .

  11. That was an Atrocious  and Pathetic 1st half.  Stony Brook is a shell of themselves.  We have 7 points over the last 12+ minutes and Killings refuses to call his use it or lose it timeout.  We continue to play guys in the first half that have no business playing.

Hopefully we play the right guys in the 2nd half and we make some adjustments.

When are some of you people going to learn not to give up on this team in the first half?

I would also state its a message board.  I don't think it's wrong to give real time reactions to what is going on.

We were playing poorly and getting out coached.  I think we can all agree in those facts and state those facts.

The team turned it around and beat a very bad team on the road.  Good for them.  This year is about growing and I believe both the team and coaching staff did that.

And apparently he did.  Down what 15 at one point, on the road and you come out with the W.

Yes they did . But I would argue they won despite the coaching. Too many examples to list , but look at the time out with 50 seconds left and the shot they got out of it.

I have zero problem losing because of lack of talent. I have a big problem if it's coaching.  However coaches will have bad games , especially new ones.

Glad they got the win . In the end that's all that matters.
