Like someone said it will set the program back 5 years. But if there is a silver lining if Benson is gone then it's all not bad.
-
Again just allegations but the AD and the coach are tied together. If the coach goes so does the AD. But we all know that won't happen.

Hoping he was just defending himself from a player who charged him and it was nothing more. I too can't see DK assaulting a player.
Of course who knows but if this is true it's bad :
Per Samurai Sources, Dwayne Killings will be relieved of his duties at Albany following the Final Four. Albany AD Mark Benson reportedly going to give Killings an opportunity to depart on his own.

Very unfortunate. Killings does not seem like the type of guy to get into a players face in a negative way. Very interesting.

Likely....good to see a result from recruitment.... Did he make Roger Wyland's top 10 from the Capital District 2022?
He did not because he did not play in the captial district the last 2 years. Played prep. Seems like a great player for a walk on. Hopefully we have something big in the works and Jackson sees the writing on the wall .

Doesn't this fall under 2022?

So impressed with St. Peter's. Defense is absolutely terrific. Every Offensive set is run with a purpose.
Too many times this year we had no idea what we were doing with our offensive sets.
Midmajor teams watching St. Peter's can learn so much.

Not sure he was a role player. Before December he was getting his feet and health back. He played over 30 minutes a game from 12/11 on, having 40 or more minutes played 3 times.
He shot 36.5% from deep for the season, and averaged over 10pts per game, while not getting much time the first 7 games. He scored 20+ five times, including 32 against Kent State. No his team wasn't great, but the MAC is a FBS league.
No he wasn't what we thought he could be after his freshman year, but if he is healthy you can't tell me that his scoring ability wouldn't have really helped this team and it's shooting woes.
I'd welcome him back in a second if coming home (basketball wise) was something that interested him.
I agree. He got better as the season progressed. However, I want to move on. We need to get more atheltic. Guys who can create off the dribble and make shots.

Wow, great showing from UVM but they lost the game from the line missing 7 FT. Also Arkansas figured out how to guard Davis in 2nd half.
Davis did have 12 in the second half after 8 in the first. But your right they really shut him down the last 10 mins.
That Vermont team was a very very good team and could not win an NCAA tournament game. Shows how hard it is to do so.
-
Just a guess. But constant recent losing from our 3 big sports equals lack of message board interest.

Congrats. Awesome win . Seemed like a great crowd.

Vermont is selling Championship game tickets for 45 and 40 dollars ? That's crazy. Is that normal ? Is the price set by Vermont or by the AE?
-
I have two brothers and two sons . I don't watch too much women's basketball. Sooo different then the men. The ball / shots bounces off the rim so oddly . So many bad misses.

Just as expected the transfer portal is exploding. 5 New Hampshire players have entered the portal.
I think Killings has built a very positive culture, but we will see if any of our guys enter.

Multiple sources that the AE locked in with three schools. If the schools I'm hearing are the ones, i like the way the AE looks. Solid lacrosse amd baseball additions. Solid facilities. Will push the AE
Is it multiple public sources or private sources?

Would NOT, not welcome him back. But IMHO, I would really like to have as many spots available for Killings to fill. I think there are better players out there then Horton. UA badly needs a real point guard; someone who can handle the ball and score from the outside CONSISTENTLY. IMHO Horton is average at best @ the point. His assist to T/O ratio did improve as the year went on; but outside shot was never more than just OK. Not convinced he'd be any better off the ball, but you certainly are welcome to disagree.
Thats a great post and would have no issue with it. The problem I see is that they have, let's say, 3 scholarships. All 3 need to be "proven " better then Horton. Better than a 2nd team player and defensive player of the year. If Killings can get 3 better then that then absolutely let him walk.

A real 5 is almost impossible at our level. But I like Wolf . I would recruit the best 2 or 3 players we can get, regardless of position. Get the best and go from there.

Thank for the update. Very interesting. MACC schools have allowed their schools to participate in Championships so there would be no reason to wait on announcing them, if it is some of them.
Look forward to seeing how it plays out.

My vote, Let him Walk. IMHO, he was only OK, when compared to a cast of mostly misfits.
He was second team AE and the defensive player of the year. With a better team he would not need to shoulder the load. If he wants to come back I would welcome him with open arms.

Michael Kelly, a reporter that covers UA, and he stated that if Cerutti wants another year he would need to go this route .

Horton on returning for another year:
"A big chance" is how Horton described it, to be exact.

The one player I want to return is Cerrutti. He, unfortunately can't return, per my understanding because this was his "Covid" year. He had played four at Lock Haven. If that is wrong...then sign him up ASAP. What a story.
Horton had a nice turn around...and if he is playing off the ball, then I wouldn't mind him returning for another year.
It's time to move on from Doles.
He played 3 at lock haven and 1 here. So I don't see how he return . However the local paper and UA radio announcer said he can return with a waver. My only thinking was that lock haven did not play during the covid year so he can apply for another year.

Good second half . Glad they made it a game and did not roll over. Now get out there and recruit, recruit, and recruit some more.
-
We turn to the Off-season and it will be an interesting one. Who returns , who leaves , and who comes in. One thing that is completely obvious is getting players that can put the ball in the basket.
Horton, Doles, and I guess Cerruti (can someone explain how) can return.
Transfer protal will be huge. We will find out a ton in the upcoming weeks.
Allegations swirling...

Also I know I sound like a broken record but there are over 800 kids in the transfer portal now. It has changed college basketball . Get the RIGHT coach in here and it won't take as long as before. But we will see.
