  1. Oh and by the way, they were milking the clock starting at about 4 minutes. Totally took the team out of its offense, killed any momentum and was a very different game than they played all night. They should have been pounding it in, rotating. Instead they stood around waiting for Evans to drive and kick...something he's not great at. Bad coaching.

We do seem to consistently let teams back into games by slowing things down. It might be a perception thing on my part as I like a faster paced offense but I think we do this way too often.

Also, how bad is AE that a first year team is 3-1?

  2. This team REALLY lacks a leader. No Devlin, Enemma, Hooley, Odunsi, banged up Shengalia, banged up Rowley...this team is not what we expected out on the floor. But if I am on this team, I am exploding on my teammates for serious lack of hustle and standing around and watching the ball come to my hands instead of going up for it.

Really disappointed with the heart and energy at times. That's up to player leadership.

UML has definitely played w/ more energy for the whole game.

  3. It needs to be said...it's true...same guys every game lifting the heavy load, the bench has done nothing. One of two things will happen...they will come out with some fire or sulk...

I would have passed on using the press to call out players individually, and by name.

I agree. This doesn't read well by me, I can't imagine how it is for these kids.

  4. What's really funny is how upbeat their fans are. I guess that's good for them but that is a bad basketball team. Take away the fast start and we punished them the rest of the game. It was 32-16 at one point. From there we run them out of the gym 58-30. For entertainment I listened to their post game show on the drive home, hilarious. Each and everyone was excited. Nobody mentioned how the T may have turned the game on them (although I think it was going our way no matter what). I know we (me included) can be negative at times but come on, you get beaten down by 12 on your home court by your cross town rival and you are all fired up?

Rowley and Hooley were great. We did have to let the Siena fan in front of us now that Rowley's move is not the "same move" every time.

Fun game. Team was ready to play after some early jitters (and a banked 3).

I concur on the shorts. I thought Puk had on the wrong shorts at one point when he was walking away and the rest of the team was facing my direction.

  5. I never took that much glee at Tromboli's breakdown after playing us. He always seemed like a decent kid who played hard and obviously wanted to win. In general, I have a lot of respect for their program and their fans. They've just happened to be between us and where we want to be.

Agreed.... They have a great program which I respect... But like you said, they were/are in our way...

Come on fellas, he played for our biggest rival, and whined all the time, we don't have to like him. Didn't say I didn't respect him or the program, but enjoyed watching him and them lose.

  6. The Alumni Association is asking what DVD we want to watch on the bus to Vermont:

    -The Washington game

    -The Stony Brook game

-The 2007 AE Championship Final at Patrick Gym.

    Hard to go wrong.

On the AE forum the Vermont fans were talking about how annoying it was to hear us do the UA-UAUAUA-UA-UA after every made basket in 2007. I think we have our blueprint for Saturday.

I may be biased as someone that wasn't around for the '07 title game, but man would I love to see sad Tommy Brenton on the way up. Nothing makes me smile like sad Tommy Brenton.

Well you should check out the 07 game as well. A sad Mike Trimboli was great also. I got to see his season end in person each year 06,07,08,09. Extra special most years when UA ended it. :P

I'm with Bob. I'm not sure why but I loved to watch that guy lose. I almost feel bad now.
