  1. Nice win. The team is playing so well together. If only the "Bigs" could become scoring threats the team would be much harder to handle. I don't want to jinx things but could we be looking at 25+ wins?

I certainly agree more production from the bigs would be helpful but I just don't think that it is how we are built. Our bigs just aren't great offensively and although it would make us better I'm not sure it is necessary w/in America East and most of our OOC schedule. We'll need a big to defend and rebound but other than that we have scoring options from a number of 1-4 type players (including smaller 4's).

  2. Our offense looked terrible and rebounding a disaster. That said I hate when basketball is played, and allowed to be played, that way. I know it is a contact sport and all but the pushing, shoving, and bumping was out of control. The refs did call a lot of it but I think they just figure you can't call everything. I give the team a bit of a pass in games like this. Everybody has an opinion and mine is that that is not basketball.

As far as the last shot, I did not think it hit the rim but it appeared that neither did two of the refs. One was emphatic about the call, the other two just kind of looked to him. Poor if it truly didn't hit anything.

  3. I went with 15-19. I was unable to make the open practice so it's basically a guess based on what I've read and what I know of the returning players. More importantly it's based on the league. There are always a handful of teams that are very bad in this conference every year. Somewhere in the .500 are should be a given.

For me I need >20 for it to start to be a successful season.

  4. Just tired is all of every season half the team turning over...a number of the kids not graduating.

Logan graduated..he's going to Maryland for graduate school. And I wonder how close Watts was/is..since he red-shirted his first year..so 3 years + summer classes..gotta be pretty close.

And that's Suero, Aronhalt and Watts leaving..correct? Math was never my strong subject..but 3 out of 13 or 14 isn't anywhere near 'half.'

I don't want to speak for click, but I wonder if he may have been going a little different direction. Trust me, I don't have the numbers, but how many kids that have entered the program in the last six years have finished w/ the program? And I wonder how this compares to other programs. We see these transfers and react. It sure seems like a lot of the incoming players don't' make it through the end (graduation or eligibility). Maybe an easier way to evaluate is to ask who should be seniors this year that are here vs. not here and the same for juniors?

  5. Team can be middle of the pack still IF Hooley and Rowley make big impacts, Devlin and Puck are healthy and Black plays agressive offensive basketball and Iati shoots the lights out. Oh and the defense improves exponentially. Hopefully the two ships bring some players that can contribute.

I was optimistically agreeing w/ mid pack. However the middle of the pack of what has become a terrible conference.

  6. This extension has a "prove it to me" kind of feel to it. Let's face it, we haven't been very good. Today's announcement is another brutal kick to the stomach.

For me the last contract was the "prove it" contract. He didn't. Not to me and not to a lot of fans. All this the same week that the season ticket email comes out. I'll be there of course but is anybody really excited about 2-3 more years of Will Brown? As a program there has been no improvement to speak of and with the departure of Suero and Aronhalt is there any excitement at all. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see anything special here. I do see lost opportunity of the NCAA years. That was a huge opportunity to do some real recruiting and become a power in the AE. Instead nothing but mediocrity in a terrible conference.

Are there no better options out there?

Take a look at the limited activity on this board given what has gone on the last couple of days. From the Jamar years to this.

    Very disappointing.

  7. All of those seem reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised however to see either one of the freshmen start at C.

Yocum played at a big time program against big time comp. He should be mentally ready for this.

And Gifford showed a decent amount offensively in the short scrimmage.

I love Covington but am afraid his O might restrict his playing time.

These opinions after 24 minutes of running clock intrasquad, but why not.

Remember when all freshman played 15-40 minutes a game and you could view there progress? How times have changed.

  8. I was happy to get my tickets today as well. The exhibition game is a week away and then things start rolling!

One thing different this year for members of the Varisty Club. The pre-game gatherings will be in the Old Gym instead of the Hall of Fame room. HOF will be for season ticket holders who donate at the $500 or over level. I guess if you're a Varsity Club member who gives over $500 maybe you could go to both?

One other thing mentioned in the letter along with the tickets is the policy for postseason tickets. As stated the priority will go donors beginning at the $2500 level, then life-time giving to athletics and finally to season ticket holders. According to the letter 95% of last years tickets went to athletic donors.

If I'm reading this right, it's as follows:

    1. $2500 and up that year get priority.

    2. Then total lifetime giving.

    3. Then ticket holders.

    Is that correct?
