  1. More dirt going down on that left side. I wonder if that is going to be the new bowl section afterall. From the plans it actually looks like the visitors bleachers will sit below the bowl so the seating is at the same level as the bowl. Basically they would create the "placeholder" for the permanent visitors side stands which would blend into the bowl.
  2. FYI Click - teh official site for the Coaches poll is here http://www.soconsports.com/fls/4000/socon/FCS/polls/2012/2012_FCS_Coaches_Poll/index.html
  3. I'd rename "Massey" to "Massey Compare". Massey has a separate ranking within the Comparison which actually has us at 44.
  4. FYI - Massey Ranking Comparison (a compilation of computer rankings) has us at 24. http://masseyratings.com/cf/compare1aa.htm 1 N Dakota St 2 Old Dominion 3 Illinois St 4 Sam Houston St 5 Youngstown St 6 Northern Iowa 7 Ga Southern 8 Montana 9 James Madison 10 Lehigh 11 Montana St 12 E Washington 13 Harvard 14 Cal Poly SLO 15 Bethune-Cookman 16 Cent Arkansas 17 Appalachian St 18 Wofford 19 Stony Brook 20 New Hampshire 21 Delaware 22 Citadel 23 Samford 24 Albany NY 25 Jacksonville St
  5. Very interested to see what happens to us this week. I don't think we're a Top 25 team, but being 2-0 early in the season helps. If we win next week we'll be a Top 15-20 that's for sure.
  6. I find myself obsessively checking that camera like every hour or two...even though you can't really see much...lol We're luck it isn't an actual webcam. I'd watch it all day. long.
  7. Concrete being poured today! I can't wait to see something resembling a stadium.
  8. The helmet? Delaware did invent the Wing T offense. But yes they weren't the first to wear th helmet. Princeton did first, but Delaware has worn them since the early 50s.
  9. Hen fans onIne saying the hail warnings kept a lot of them away. Especially since the game is on nationally TV.
  10. I'm watching it as well...looks big-time. BTW...so glad we won't have a track around our field. Makes a huge difference on TV without a track.
  11. FYI Delaware is the first game on the NBC Sports CAA package right now. It looks great. I can't wait to get some games on national TV.
  12. They are enclosing the whole facility in fencing and adding a walkway over to the visitors side, plus laying all the utilities for future expansion. Plus they are putting in the access gates and the gravel base for the installation of temporary bleachers. This should give you a good view.
  13. Don't forget that all the seating is pre-cast. Meaning they will come in pieces already built off-site. This means once the foundations are set the stadium will take shape very quickly. The finish work takes a while, but I imagine the stadium will look like a stadium soon.
  14. The orange/red and white things being hoisted into place are concrete forms for what I think is the foundation of the tower. The concrete blocks in front of them are anchors to set the concrete forms in place. EDIT - just looking at the plans, it actually looks like they are building the retaining wall that will separate the bottom level of bleachers from the top level where the tower will sit. The bottom level of seats will run from the top of the retaining wall down to the top of the stadium wall. The top level runs from the top of the retaining wall up to the tower. Its hard to see what is happening on the back side, but I can only assume they are going to start working on the utility connections. The big pile of dirt on the bottom left of the screen looks like an access ramp to me down onto the field for construction vehicles, but it could also be the corner of the grass berm being built as well.
  15. Some rumors that Davidson, College of Chareston, Furman, Wofford and Elon are CAA bound in all sports. That would add 3 strong Sluthern football schools. North: Albany SBU URI UNH Maine Villanova Delaware South Elon Wofford Furman William and Mary Richmond Towson James Madison
  16. We were ranked 23rd in the last Coaches poll of the season last year. I'm not sure we were ever ranked in the TSN poll though.
  17. 18. Concrete forms going in today. I think there is going to be some real tangible progress before homecoming which is great. Speaking to people at the game on Saturday, some were still skeptical about the stadium getting built for next year. Once they see progress rising above the fences, I think the excitement will really build.
  19. Rhode Island staying in the CAA. http://news.providencejournal.com/sports/college/2012/08/uri-staying-in-caa-football.html Good move for them and good news fo us. Makes for a nice northern division.
  20. The first phase is small - 8,000 and that includes 2,000 temp bleachers on the visitors side. Baby steps for us compared to JMU, but huge leaps compared to what we've been playing in since 1970.
  21. This is going to be a pretty shot of the sun setting over that stadium when it goes up!
  22. The lighting upgrades in the fountain will be really cool. I hope they put some accent lighting features in the stadium as well.
  23. Looks like they may be creating the rest of the bowl for the stadium now. Its a good thing its not a live action camera....I'd get no work done at all if it was.
  24. Tarps are coming off the dirt pile today! Hopefully that means digging and foundation work starting soon!
