Running backs for next year

Recommended Posts

It looks like there are three choices:

1. Vidal - more of a speed back, not sure if he has the strength to be the primary rusher.

2. Fantell - Has played well in limited action. I know he was a star in Florida, but does he have the speed and strength to start?

3. Omar Johnson - redshirting this year, but he was a star running back in New Jersey last year. He'll have a chance to make his case in the spring.

ANy thoughts?

Eddie Unverzadt will be the starting fullback. He gets a lot of playing time and is bigger then John George. But it will take him another year to be as good. I hear he is supposedly faster then George. Either way we will have a great stable of backs. This kid from N.J is the real deal. So is the kid from Florida. It will be another year of bruising style football. Obviously we are going to miss Jones!

Unverzadt is a nice blocker but doesn't seem to be the ball carrier yet that Jon George is. I really like Vidal as a runner as he is a real burner. Fantell has run hard when he's gotten carries this year but really needs to bulk up if he is going to get alot of carries next year. Don't know much about Omar Johnson except that his cousin Ray Harris plays for Towson.
