Attendance

Recommended Posts

Did some calculations on attendance comparing last year. Last year's attendance (w/o the BPG) averaged 982 over 12 games. Year to date this year, the average attendance is 1375 for the four home dates (excluding the LIU game at St. Rose). 40% increase in attendance isn't bad.

Yes, I know it's early but the trend is pretty good.

On the Siena site they listed alot of reasons why attendance was so dreadful down at the infamous "Pepsi Arena"

now now boys.

i didnt bother to go down because of the weather so that means there were at least 6 empties right there.

game was on tv

ua game was on tv

gtech vs unc was on tv

u a was at home

lot of excuses for people to stay home.

a lot of glens falls people went to area bars to watch mike v, s, rather than fight the elements.

wasnt a bad game really. - rdjc

I guess that makes our increase in attendance that more interesting!!!!

Let's hope that when the students return we can go over 2,000 regularly.

I'm curious - does anyone know what Siena pays to rent the Pepsi per game? When I heard about the CBA - Schenectady rematch being moved to the Pepsi, with tickets selling for $3 , I became curious about the economics of it. I can't figure out how, at best, total gate receipts of $21,000.00 for an event where they can't sell beer can justify opening the arena. Like I said - just curious.

Come on attorney....it's a tax write off!

Lot's of arena's donate to high schools, which are tax exempt (even private schools have a portion of their expenses as tax exempt.

I highly doubt they are paying anything for this game. If they, it is very minimal.

Hold on there Kramer. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the Spectrum group (I think its called SMG/Spectacor...I forget, based in Philly) runs the arena from a management persepective, therefore they are not entitled for a full tax write off to the state (maybe the county).

That is why I said that.
