Vermont Attendance

Regarding attendance for this game, I am extremely curious to see what the final figure will be. I don't think anyone really knows. Some people say 2,500. Others think 4,000. I think people have suggested the biggest RACC crowd ever.

 

Bottom line, yes, Big Purple Growls are fun. However, they put so much promotion into it and it is a primarily an alumni homecoming event. People aren't just there for hoops. It could be to see old friends or just to eat the food.

 

This time, on Wednesday night, people are only attending to see basketball. No, ifs and ands or buts about it. We will find out if the Capital Region is ready to support UAlbany tomorrow. Siena is having a down year. I really hope a lot of Siena fans join the fun at the RACC. As much as the game is about UAlbany, it is about supporting a local product at its highest moment. Something special could happen tomorrow. I just hope as many people as possible jump on the bandwagon, even if it is only for one night

A friend just went to purchase tickets for tommorrow's game. The section under the far hoop is all sold out and the near hoop is 3/4 sold out already. He said the phone in the box office was ringing off the hook. Should be hooping!

I was at the box office buying tickets this afternoon too, and they said a lot of people from Vermont are buying tickets for the game. A friend of mine who is a Siena fan is reluctantly going to the Siena game tonight. He said he had to go because he has season tickets. It sounded like he was going to the dentist for a root canal.

Not quite off topic, but we need a better ticket management system.

 

I have used the "ticket office" three times this year and the process is you call them, leave a voicemail and they call you back. Hopefully they reach you otherwise it's phone tag.

 

If UA is going to bid for the tournament, they need to improve the process for getting tickets.

 

Some schools, like Vermont and Binghamton allow you to order from their website.

I agree. The website must be updated to allow you to buy tickets on-line.

todays Time Union says 1,600 tickets are sold (wonder how many Vermont tickets that is) and they expect between 2,500-3,000 tonight.

There is no excuse. This game should draw over 3,000. I would be extremely disappointed with any less considering Vermont is bringing people as well as Josh Duell.

 

In other words, it doesn't get any bigger than this!!!! On the other hand, I think you will see a walk-up crowd of 1,500-2,000.

Anyone have any idea how to gauge student interest for tonight's game? The UAlbany student body may be the deciding factor on the outcome of the game?

 

Is this game being talked about? What is the typical reaction of the student to this event?

i havent heard much talk about it when it comes to students. The people i do know who are going say they are going cause they want to see Big and Little T for Vermont because they think they are NBA bound.
