After a standout season with New Mexico Junior College, Dallas-native Jason Siggers is now very seriously pondering his next move. The all-around 6-foot-4, 195-pound shooting guard just came back from an official visit and is now considering whether or not to pull the trigger on a commitment or see if he should continue exploring all of his options. A choice could be coming any day now, according to New Mexico JC head coach Jeff McCool.

"Jason is in decision-making mode right now," said McCool. "He went on a visit last week and is considering signing with Albany. He has about three-to-four Division I schools pretty interested in him right now, as well as a lot of Division II schools, so he's just thinking about things."

Siggers is clearly one of Albany's "A-list" recruits and they've worked hard recruiting him. He thoroughly enjoyed his trip up to New York state, but simply needs some time to think about things at the current moment. Other schools such Louisiana-Lafayette and Stephen F. Austin continue to be in contact, and Washington State, Cal-Irvine, and Utah have shown a little interest. But as it stands, Albany has been impressive.

"Albany is up in that league that Vermont won, and they're going to be favored to win next year," McCool said. "So that's a pretty good situation for him, and academics-wise it's a good school too. He was pretty impressed with the campus, the community, and the people there."

Texas Hoops Analysis: Jason is a very good shooter who can really stroke it from behind the 3 point line. He has a strong body, has a bit of a slow release but knows hot to create space and get it off, can hit the pull-up jumper and works on defense.
