Vermont gets Siena Prospect

Recommended Posts

6-foot-2 guard Mike Trimboli who was a prospect for Siena before the Lanier signing, signed up with UVM. Trimboli, averaged 28 points per game at St. Luke's High School in New Canaan, Conn. It affects us, so i figure i post it.

Tough situation for Siena's new coach to come into. Needing alot with not much time to get it this late in the recruiting period. Fans will probably give him a pass next year but you'd have to think if Albany improves next year and with the Patroon starting to play at the Armory there will be some heat on him to get things going quickly, especially if attendance drops.

I don't know that fans will give him a pass next year. I hope they will but the team has a chance to be really bad. I don't think he'll have any issues with job security but I think fan support will be really down and they will have a tough time getting it back.

I think the really challenging issue will be the relatioship with the Pepsi. If Siena doesn't win (and attendance dwindles), it might not make sense financially to continue playing at the Pepsi (or maybe the Pepsi makes that decision). That's an issue because I think that is their biggest recruiting advantage. While they average 6k fans in an arena that seats more than twice that, I think kids like the feel of the big arena.

Also, if Albany does have a good year, that may make it difficult for them to get fans back.
