Does anyone know the status of the tournament, or who the other teams are? Last I was told, it was expected that the contracts would be signed in early June, and an official announcement could not be made until the contracts were in place.

Thursday Nov 10th either St. Peters or McNeese State

 

Friday Nov 11th if we win we player the winner of the Florida vs. McNeese State/St Peters

 

If we happen to win both we would play Nov 17th at MSG

Either one of those are a pretty good first round matchup. All those first round games are played at a regional site (Florida) I'm guessing?

There are 4 regional sites; Florida, Wake Forest, Syracuse and Texas Tech. The 4 winners advance to MSG for a "final four" on Nov 17-18

Do you mean the University of Florida? Yes...they are, at the O'Connell Center. I am going with a former UF grad and a UF trainer...very psyched. Good times are had in Gainseville.

I'm sure Gainesville is a great town and was voted America's best city or something one year. I will always associate it with Ted Bundy and the Gainesville Ripper however.

I stayed in one of the complex's the Ripper terrorized. Even as a man, it was quite surreal. I definately was freaked out by it.

 

I made up for my terror a few days later; I pretended to be a UF recruit and got access to Ben Hill Griffen where I have some great snapshots of me watering the 50 yard line....

St. Peter's (last year Sagarin #178) forum says they're playing Florida in the opener, which would put us (#194) against McNeese (#248), and a pretty good chance of getting to the second round vs. Gators (#15)

Good news to hear. I know Florida is still Florida, but how are they expected to be comapred to last year? 'Nova finished #12 in the rankings and we were able to hang with them. Hopefully we can take care of McNeese State and then give Florida a run for their money.

THis seems logical to me. If the Florida - St. Peters game is televised, it can be marketed as an SEC team against St Peter's Keydren Clark, who is always near the lead in national scoring and might be the pre-season MAAC POY
