Dane Pound
Except for Fordham it's tough to be optimistic about the OOC.
UAalum72
Forget OOC, the conference record could be anywhere from 7-0 to 2-5. The Sports Network predicts Albany fifth in the league
Ruler
We realistically have the talent to win the conference this season. I read that Ford has stockpiled 2 years worth of red shirt Frosh with loads of ability. Lets hope someone really emerges this year on O as Colin Disch did last year on D! This season hinges on how well this team absorbs the losses against Hofstra, Maine and UMASS. We realistically could be 0-2 going into CCSU. Hopefully there will not be a lack of confidence for these kids, they need that swagger back. Albany a few years ago would have won the game before they got off the bus(before the full scholarship beatings). These JUCO kids we brought in have played against players closer to this fully funded level then our Frosh and Sophs have. So we should be better prepared against the OOC schedule this season! If they were able to be competitive in these games or God willing pull off a miracle, this team would sweep the confrence. Last years team was average and one dimensional at best and lost to the top two teams by a combined 4 or 5 points. RMC spanked us and that was a wasted effort that day(this is the team that scares me most!) Monmouth is not the killer team they were. I don't care what posters are saying. We take a bull $iena roughing the passer call away last year and Monmouth has to punt and they are never in the position to kick the winning FG. We win 24-22. This with an average team! We miss 3 FG against CCSU....make all 3 ands we win...whatever, water over the damn. Point is these teams are not the blood thirsty killers everyone thinks they are. Now RMC is gonna be! CCSU without Harge is not the same team. We need to be 1-3 after the Maine game. If as I mentioned earlier we get lucky or play real well against the OOC we will be in a great position to played NEC comp. I am sure they will be ready.
