Calhoun was just on for 15 minutes, talking about the Big East tournament, UConn's road to Indy. Comment on Friday's game consisted entirely of:

 

JC: Albany shoots the 3 about 38%

Dog: Albany's got a nice little team. They're not gonna win, but...

JC: we've gotta beat Albany, then the winner of the Kentucky-UAB game

 

near the wrapup:

 

Dog: Albany's got a nice little point guard there, and..

JC: Yeah, they can shoot the 3

 

So I guess he's not too concerned with the first game.

Will Brown was on from about 2:45 to about 2:55 this afternoon. Mad Dog got off to a bad start calling us the Grey hounds. I think Mike corrected him Great Danes. They talked a bit about the team. MVP Jamar was mentioned along with where he played High school on Long Island. Will's basketball playing and tennis days were mentioned as was the general atrosphere in the RACC, the students camping out where Mike and the Mad Dog hang out during the summer. The hot spot Across the Street pub was mentioned as was the fact that no 16 has yet beaten a one. Will talked about the team having to get off to a good start, play defense, hit the shots, play loose, not let Uconn's dunks or blocks take UA out of the game.

 

I think I got most of it. Someone at work alerted me to the interview and I only listened part of the program.

Brown mentioning more than once that he is confident we can score... it's just a matter of figuring out a way to rebound and defend.

 

Mike mentioned how UA is know as party school. Brown responded that hopefully now we will be known as a basketball school.

 

Coach said we will play man. We will do what we have done all year with only a few wrinkles.

Russo mentioned how Albany fans rushed the court very quickly and it appeared a bit more out of control than you usually see.

we are more out of control than any where and we are the #1 party school. For some reason the kids that come here are nuts. It;s all those city and LI kids doin some damage then you mix in the upstaters. perfect balance
