Can someone explain the two (2) illegal pitches that were called in the 1st inning which put UMass's 1st runner on base and then allowed the Homerun to even happen without those calls two runs would not have scored in the 1st inning.

I've seen UA play several times and never saw an illegal pitch called on Halloran.

According to the story in today's paper Danes to play for softball tourney survival-TU.

The illegal pitch was for sliding her front foot. Perhaps someone more knowledgable can explain. I'm pretty cynical considering the game was at UMass.
