Don't know if this is old news or not, since he's already listed on our roster, but Wyland reported tonight that Justin Tougas, 6-6 308 OT has transferred to Albany from Boston College. Glens Falls native has two years eligibility remaining.

I had not heard that. Sounds like a good pick up. He was out all of last year after getting hurt in the Bufallo game. Seems like he would have had decent playing time last year as a R-FR at BC.

 

Should have an impact immediately so long as he is recovered from his injury.

Doesn't he have to sit out a year?

 

If it is a Student Athlete's first transfer from a 4 year school they can use an exception in some cases:

One of the exceptions is transfering from a Football Bowl Division school (BC) to a Football Championship Division school (UA)

so - he gets to play right away
