Volleyball, UAlbany at Siena 4pm Sunday

Recommended Posts

Big game on Sunday for bragging rights, UAlbany has won at least the last 4 meetings. Siena has a great record this year and should win their conference again. They have an outstanding freshman, solid setting and will be looking to finally break their losing streak against UAlbany.

UAlbany has gelled surprisingly quickly since the beginning of the season given the huge turnover from last year. Amazingly the offensive hitting percentage are nearly identical to last year when the all time career leaders in kills, digs and assists were seniors. Brooke Stanley and the other rookies have done an outstanding job. Major kudos to the coaching staff, I hope the AD's office is paying attention. As major Division I jobs open up in the coming years, Coach Sheffield will get more and more attention.

UAlbany's young team will have to step up and win a tough road match. Actually Siena doesn't get a huge crowd normally so it would be great if a big Go Purple contingent showed up to watch volleyball for FREE.

Too bad Time Warner is no longer televising games, this would be a great one.

I thought this game WAS being televised.

Congrats to the team for breaking Binghamton's 17 match winning streak on their home court on Monday.

If Siena wins this weekend (fri & sat) , they will have an overall 17 game current winning streak.( counting teams that aren't D1 like Montreal)

Obviously I never root for Siena , but I would not be upset if they won Fri and Sat so that UA could break their streak.

Nor would I be upset if Bingo extends a new home streak on Tuesday against Siena.

Like Dane Pound I hope a big continent of UA fans make the road trip again for this one. This one may be tougher to draw fans as the one 2 years ago wasn't going against the NFL.
