... and that Criminal Justice ranking has historically been #1 since UAlbany created the nation's first graduate program in CJ in 1968. I believe Univ. Maryland supplanted UA recently in the CJ rankings only because Univ. Maryland received a $12 million grant from the Department of Homeland Security, which shot Univ. Maryland all the way to the top of the rankings. Don't be suprised to see UAlbany back at #1 in the next year or so (it was a three-year grant for Maryland).

I also think that list above might have left off a program or two that are ranked high; i.e., our Education: Literacy program. Wasn't that top 5 or something like that?

Now for the only comparison that should be made on a college basketball forum.

Number of head-to-head wins between men's basketball programs since 2001.

Siena: 5

UAlbany: 1

Good luck tomorrow.

This is a UAlbany / UAlbany Athletics board.

Not a lil saints board.

That is the only comparison that helps your case as a $aint.

The other 100 comparisons certainly do show how much superior of a University UAlbany is compared to $iena college... and how quickly we surpassed you athletically in 7 short years, when you've been at the division I level for 31 years.

Maybe I'll pass out some flyers tomorrow with these facts, and give some of the arrogant individuals in your fan base a little dose of reality.

Good luck to you too. Whoever wins tomorrow, will not change the above facts.

If you want to pass out information regarding the above, I'd be happy to chip in some $ to pay for copying costs. Can't think if a finer way to give back to the university, other than being in attendance, wearing purple, and drinking beer tomorrow night.

Bosiydid, Dane96, or anyone else who can post on $iena's board (I signed up 4 days ago and still haven't been given approval)...........

You may take this original post and post it on their board if you wish.

Some of them need a little 'Dane-ing' ... it might be a little bitter for them to swallow, but they are used to swallowing.

UA needs to win the game. Period.

You guys can bring all the fliers into their building you want, but if I have to walk back to my car with them celebrating behind me, the fliers don't mean squat.

True, it's felt good in March, but this does mean something. We need to win head to head.

We technically don't Need to win the game. Seeing it will have no impact on our conference play and chances of returning to the NCAAs for a third consecutive year.

But to wipe the smirks off the siena community college faithful will be pleasurable, for sure.

Beating $iena tomorrow still won't even compare to feeling far superior to my counterparts over in Latham for being an Alumnus from a far superior Institution of higher learning.

Alum73, I've edited that info, thanks!
