Women's lacrosse defeated #16 Penn State 8-7 in University Park PA today. Three goals for Nikki Branchini.

 

In other spring sports, softball lost to Iowa 2-1 (on a single, sac fly, and TWO wild pitches - grrrrr), and then beat Eastern Michigan 5-4 in ten innings.

 

Baseball lost to Santa Clara 10-6 last night; at this time (6:25) they trail 6-2 in the 8th in the first game of a doubleheader.

And after beating #20 Hofstra, the Danes women crack the deBeer/Inside Lacrosse poll at #19. Ariana Parker named AE ROW.

I don't know how many is a lot in women's lax, but we got 17 today in a win over Marist (17-8).

WLax beats Purple Birds 23-1. Lost the shutout when Niagara scored with 7 1/2 minutes left.

Women are now 10th in the laxpower poll, 9th in RPI, 8th in the computer rating, 7th in the deBeer/inside lacrosse poll, but only 17th in the 'Tournament Selection Index', probably because of Strength of Schedule of 43 (best wins are #14 BC and #15 Penn St). Probably means that even a single loss might make an at-large bid iffy.
