About UAlbany Giving Tuesday

What is Giving Tuesday?

On Tuesday, December 1, not-for-profits, families, businesses and students share a common purpose: to celebrate generosity. Around the globe, #GivingTuesday is a special call to action with the goal to inspire philanthropy.

Are you up to the challenge?

UAlbany is celebrating #GivingTuesday with a challenge: if we receive 750 gifts in the 1,844 minutes leading up to midnight on Giving Tuesday December 1, Sodexo will contribute an additional $75,000 to UAlbany. And there's more. This year, we also have several mini challenges for individual colleges and programs. Details are in the "Challenges" section below. Check back often, we'll be making updates throughout the day.

Spread the Word

Make your gift to UAlbany and let the world know with the hashtag #UAlbanyGivingTuesday. Gifts of all sizes count toward our goal, and we cant do it without you!

They also list specific matching gifts. For example if 75 people donate to Athletics an alumn of 1996 will donate $25k to Athletics.

I'll give today. Third donation this year. Like all of them I'm specific that funds must be used for the stadium.

With all the nonsense going on across colleges I'm not writing any checks that can go to "highest need". I can only imagine what that crap would be.
