UA and Pharmacy cooperate in degree programs

Recommended Posts

Two colleges sign degree agreement

The University at Albany and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences agreed to allow students to simultaneously work toward a bachelor of science degree and a master of public health degree.

The schools said the deal means less cost and less of a time span for students to earn two degrees.

Students studying for a bachelor's degree at the pharmacy school will be able to matriculate into UAlbany's master of public health program after three years, before they have fulfilled all undergraduate requirements. As the students begin work toward a master's degree in public health at UAlbany in their fourth year, they accrue credits that can transfer back to the College of Pharmacy for fulfillment of their bachelor's degree requirement, according to the plan. The same credits will count toward their master's degree.

The program is effective immediately. Pharmacy school students can start their visiting year at UAlbany as early as next fall.
