Watched today's ESPNU Sunday's game with Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Ohio State Buckeyes..... two top ten teams ..... watched Rutgers put a beat down on Ohio State 18-7 ..... the ESPN announcers repeatedly referenced the numbers of transfers that make up the Rutgers team ....  Fifteen members are transfers, ranging from undergraduate transfers to graduate transfer ..... from DI to DIII schools ..... one thing in common .... proven success on the college lacrosse field .... Is this something we need to do more of? .....my previous posting above references Rutgers .... I saw the difference transfers can make..... further, the ESPN announcer referenced the Rutgers coaching staff demonstrated the ability to blend transfers into their existing team....

We do have several JUCO/transfers making an impact on the roster now. I suspect if Covid had hit during our Thompson/Fields run we would have had a number of top transfers come to Albany. I couldn't even guess why Rutgers has become a top landing spot for so many players, other than playing in the Big 10. OCC will probably be our top pipeline for JUCO transfers, and I never heard if the coaching staff actively scours the top JUCO programs, and not sure what the hit rate is of guys moving from JUCO to Div I.

I guess my definition of several and yours is different....Albany has three JUCO and two 4-yr college transfers....about ten percent of the total team players vs thirty percent for Rutgers .... my point can we increase the number of transfers slightly to fill in some of the gaps....without placing pressure to recruit greater numbers every year....
