NCAA rule change - football redshirts

Recommended Posts

 A player may now play in up to four games and still redshirt the season, instead of losing the season after one play as previously.

I don't know, four seems a lot considering the shortness of the season,  but two or three games would've been ok with me.

Why wouldnt' it be a good thing? We can now see who's ready to play as a freshmen against real competition and who needs additional seasoning. I think this is great lol.

Also now a player does not need permission to transfer. All he needs is to ANNOUNCE that he is. The team continues to have the right to RESTRICT where he can transfer to. Tampering rules are to be ENHANCED. If you believe that, I know of a blue chip prospect that no one else knows about and I am willing to convince him to go your school of choice {cash only accepted for my involvement.}

Look out NCAA, it is going to be a free-for-all. You may have a totally new team every year.

WOW.  What crap!  So kids can transfer just because a school looks a like it may need a player or two to win a championship

NCAA is headed towards a free market economy...student-athletes will have freedom of choice... sounds like hard times.... I believe things will settle down after a bit of time... 3 years
