  1. With the recent success of the basketball programs, it's hard to not see some folks calling Brown/Abrahamson about leaving. That being said, do you think a conference 'upgrade' would coax them both into staying and continuing to build?

  2. I don't care about 'letting up' to take it easy on a team. If you can't hang, you can't hang. Teams shouldn't run the clock out to avoid scoring because you suck. Kudos to Coach Abe and any other coach who plays till the end! Hate teams that 'take it easy' out of 'respect'. Might as well just call the game and create a mercy rule.

  3. As many have said...this was ugly. Both teams played bad, but UVM played less bad. As Click said, we don't have a single bonafide offensive go to player. Hooley is hit or miss as is Sam. While Suero tended to be a bit careless in his decision making...you at least had a good chance of him either scoring or getting to the foul line. Or Ambrose. Or Wilson. We need to find a kid who can get his no matter what, so when the rest of the team isn't scoring (like today) he can snap the team out of the funk.

Maybe with football being on the up and up, eventually we'll start getting better athletes in our other sports.

  4. I agree with Dane. Upgrade Football, then Basketball (men's and women's) as those are the 'cash cows' here. Once those programs are doing well and being successful/making revenue...then worry about sports like baseball which likely don't generate much revenue for the school but cost more than anything to maintain. We probably barely break even in that sport.

Then again, I'm not a big baseball fan (although I do watch the highlights in october) or a big soccer fan, etc.

Our main four sports (and thus concerns/priorities for upgrading) are FB, BB, LAX, and T&F. That's it. All the others can wait until funds are available BUT not at the expense of the big four. I realize many people might disagree with me but that's fine, we can agree to disagree.

  5. Iorizzo on Wyland today said he got the impression that UAlbany officials would rather have the expansion sooner than later.

    Well, duh!

See if these links work for pages 1 and 6 of Sunday's paper

That's the article in the first post, tehehe.

  6. And wouldn't special teams coordinator oversee the kickers?

That being said, not a fan of McCarthy being retained as QB/Passing Game coach...looks like we won't be throwing over the middle AGAIN next year. Everything will be a screen pass (also rare) or an out route. Obviously the OC/HC would over ride him on calls, but if can't teach the kid(s) to throw those types of passes, those plays won't be successful.
