  1. True but...SBU was only able to score 62. Weak!
  2. That was from today's TU and not the YNN story. I really like to hear a guy talk like that.
  3. Maybe. Or possibly teams are paying so much attention to shutting down our guards it's creating more opportunity and space for our front court players. Just a thought.
  4. All the Aussies in double figures. I don't recall that happening before. Hopefully it happens a lot in the future.
  5. Seriously. Double double in his first start. He's like OD Anis....oops, nevermind. Can't complain about the bigs production tonight. 42 points from the front court.
  6. Bing is shooting 42% from three. We are shooting 0% from three.
  7. Not sure I've ever seen as many consecutive foul calls as the last 20 seconds.
  8. Missing some layups again tonight isn't helping.
  9. This seems like a good time to remember a game from last year. Stony Brook, a really good defensive team, went into Patrick Gym last and gave up 68 points to UVM and lost 68-49. Then went on to win the regular season title.
  10. Interesting that we'd be looking at a PG. I'd thought Fulton would play some PG when he came in addition to DJ Evans and for all I know, Hooley who looks like a PG sometimes.
  11. That's great news! Hopefully Patrick Gym is filled with noisy Danes fans.
  12. When we have around 3,000 or so at Sefcu it's a much more fun, loud environment. 2400 yesterday without the students. If we can add a couple hundred students to that number we can get near 3K and have a good time in 2013.
  13. We're in a pretty good place when a guy like Luke Devlin is our second big man off the bench. Short poorly from the floor and from three and still ground out the win. 11 OOC wins is our best ever. Happy New Year All!
  14. Also a story today on Chris Page. He's not the guy I expected to emerge from the bench but I'm glad he's getting a shot. Hopefully we'll see him play today.
  15. I saw that former UA Coach Kelly Sheffield is leaving Dayton for Wisconsin. He won the A10 four out of his five years at Dayton and probably has a shot at a national championship at Wisconsin.
  16. Yowsa. Brown, as in the Brown Bears we're playing on Monday, beat Providence tonight!
  17. Nice win with Mike Black having an off night. Welcome back Luke Devlin! Good minutes for Chris Page in his first extended time - 6 points, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block.
  18. I'm glad I mentioned how well DJ Evans has played. He hasn't been in tonight.
  19. I'd have hoped with the long layoff between games this would have healed but apparently not. I have a hard time picturing him sitting out games. Somewhat related, I've been curious if we're going to change/expand the playing rotation that we've been using. It seemed at the beginning of the year the plan was to rely heavily on the seniors and work the younger guys and DJ Evans, Gary Johnson and Dave Weigmann into the mix. DJ has played pretty well in the few times I saw him. He got extended minutes during the Loyola game and played pretty well. This might be a chance for him to get a little more playing time.
  20. In our two losses to teams that weren't Ohio State we've had fluky things happen in the final minute. It happens. I was much less upset about the call then the fact that we had a five point lead and the ball with under three minutes left. Then we let it get down to a crazy final minute scramble in a tie game. A good possession and a basket or two in the final three minutes would have closed the door. It's what we've done throughout the winning streak and we didn't do it last night. The Q reminded me a lot of those Al Walker - Binghamton teams but with quicker players. Lots of hands everywhere just daring officials to make a call.
  21. Dallas Ennema to Join University at Albany New York Basketball Program Date posted - December 19, 2012 University at Albany New York men’s basketball head coach Will Brown recently announced three early signings for the 2013 Division I Great Danes. Among those signees is Sheldon senior Dallas Ennema. Ennema has helped the Orabs to a 9-0 start this season averaging 21.3 points per game and has pulled down 40 rebounds and dished out 23 assists. Offensively Ennema is hitting 56.8 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from behind the arc connecting on 10-of-18 three point attempts. At the free throw line Dallas has connected on 31-of-36 attempts for an 86.1 free throw percentage. Ennema averaged 19.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a junior for Coach Claude Struve. He was picked as pre-season Player of the Year of the Sioux Land Conference. Dallas played for the Martin Brothers AAU Program run by Hank Huddleson. Current Great Dane John Puk and former Great Danes Brent Wilson and Brian Lillis played for the Martin Brothers Program as well. Ennema is a member of the National Honor Society.
  22. I'll guess I'll have to see it. In live action I thought the ball grazed the rim. I guess I wasn't as upset with the call/non-call because we gave away so many chances to ice this game aside from that one play. Garvey Young, their second leading scorer didn't even play tonight. Forgot to mention before. I thought the Sandy Hook warm up shirts and the moment of silence was a nice idea. We've started too many games with moments of silence for the deaths of young people this year. Let's hope for better in 2013.
  23. There were bad calls in that game but the shot clock violation non-call wasn't one of them. The ball hit the rim. The ensuing offense rebound was the problem and it was the problem all night long. I've gotten used to us closing games like this out. Didn't happen tonight. Too many mistakes in the closing minutes that have been uncharacteristic of this team so far.
  24. Finally those 9 days are over and we can get back to watching basketball! I forgot Garvey Young was playing for the Q.
