1. Are you on drugs or something boysidid? No guarantee’s in life boys.. So of course anything can happen, Siena will be favored in the game and I expect Siena to win the game. No suicide watch if they should lose. I'll be disappointed nothing more than that. Hope that helps boyIdid and O yea happy easter to all my Dane friends..I'm outta here
2. I don't need anyone to defend me daneboy.. You Albany guys get all uptight over some basketball posts. Guess you're just a tad insecure. Funny how you all resort to name calling once you are beaten 14136 First of all that is dane GUY to you...not quite sure how UA fans complaining that we are now a better team then we were a few years ago and therefore deserve a better contract with other mid-majors is insecurity? And don't mistake what I said as name calling, it was simply a description of your broken record posting....to sum up all your posts related to UA in the last few weeks I have... Whatever I prefer daneboy, seems to fit your posting style better.. but Ok dane guy 1 - But you still lost the game to UConn – yes, a nice accomplishment getting to the game thou 2 - A loss is a loss - yes Siena beat you 3 - You lose Zollner and Jordan so we will win by 10- don't forget Levine. I said Siena will be favored by 7 to 10 anything can happen in a rivalry game. Siena will indeed be favored in the game, so what is your point? 4 - Siena is God - never said Siena was God, Siena is what it is, usually a pretty good mid major ( except for the majority of the Lanier years) Ok well I made the last one up but i think everyone gets my point....nothing but a waste of time to read your posts because I already know how they are going to unfold. If someone questions your post you simply reply with one of the 4 comments mentioned above. Don't read my posts then, talk about broken records,
3. I don't need anyone to defend me daneboy.. You Albany guys get all uptight over some basketball posts. Guess you're just a tad insecure. Funny how you all resort to name calling once you are beaten
4. I don't think arrogance makes Albany fans dislike Siena, I think Albany fans have a case of penis envy when it comes to Siena and hey that’s understandable I understand a contract, evidently you have trouble understanding a contract, do yourself a favor and read the press release from the Pepsi arena, Siena is not going to give up its advantage at the Pepsi by letting Albany host the Siena game, you guys are drinking kool aid
5. Hey Bob are you that dumb or are you just pretending to be that stupid? 1)Well Bob you do know that Siena has the 4500 seat ARC , but is too small to accommodate Siena’s fan. As for the Pepsi, Siena negotiated a contract that makes Siena the primary college basketball tenant. .. Read the press release yourself genius. Albany will not host Siena at the pepsi under the terms of that contract.. 2)Siena will never be the visitors at the Pepsi, what part of that don’t you understand? Bob how many different ways can I say that? if Albany walks away no big whoop. We will play someone else 3)Siena’s average attendance is normally double that of Albany and good chance it’s triple that of Albany this year (not sure what your point is Bob other than to make stupid comments) 4)I’m very aware of what Albany has coming in recruit wise. I’ll go slow for you Bob since you apparently are not very bright. Siena beat Albany last year, Albany will not be as good next season, at best will be the same. Siena will be vastly improved, more than likely a top 100 team, I don’t believe in its history as a d1 program that Albany has EVER even beaten a team in the top 150, let alone a top 100 team, let me repeat that, Albany had no wins last year against teams in the top half of Division 1 , your best win was over a team ranked 187, in fact you’re only win over a top 200 opponent. Siena will be favored in the contest and should win the game .. so you talk smack all you want Bob
6. Siena will NEVER be the visiting team at the Pepsi period. It is Siena’s home court If Albany walks away from the Siena/Ualb game, well who can really blame them, they take a beating just about every year and will more then likely continue to get beat the next few years. My understanding is Albany gets to keep all the revenue from tickets they sell. Question to Albany season ticket holders is the Siena game part of your season ticket package? So if I have this right, Albany gets to keep all revenue from its own ticket sales. You make it part of your season ticket package. You get a game where you can accommodate all your fans, You get tremendous local media coverage. You get a game where you don’t have to leave the city of Albany and yet despite all that it’s not enough for some of you? Lets hope your AD is smarter than some Dane fans. If Not no big deal, Siena will continue to play at the Pepsi and will continue to prosper. Albany will lose the privilege of playing in the Pepsi If the MAAC challenge tournament goes through (and it looks like it will) the Siena Albany game will be Wed Nov 15th. Organizers are hopeful to have at least 1 Big East and A10 team. Get a team from the CAA and Mid American and you have the makings of a pretty good tournament. The Pepsi would host doubleheaders on the 18th and 19th, I would presume Albany would be in the opposite bracket from Siena on the weekend to try and balance out the crowds ( we’ll see if Albany can draw anyone to the Pepsi on their own, ) the tournament is a pretty good deal for the Danes, you get 3 of the 4 games without leaving the city of Albany, against what I hope is a dynamite field. Albany would get to play some combination of top teams from the MAAC, MAC , CAA, Big East and A10 throw in a top Patriot league and NEC team and it could be a lot of fun!! I think the key to the tournaments success is having some top teams
7. First thing I want to clear up, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Ualbany and its basketball program, I may have fun with you guys and bust some stones, but make no mistake about it, I respect Ualbany and its fans Oldddog maybe you should write the Albany AD and voice your concern. If you consider Siena season ticket holders sitting in their season seats unrealistic so be it, but just be clear what you will be doing and that is canceling the series. The Pepsi is the only venue large enough to host the game, and the Pepsi is Siena’s home court. Unless one of those two facts change the only place the game can possibly occur is at the Pepsi. Hey maybe Albany fans feel they don’t need the game or perhaps they are getting tired of losing to Siena. For the life of me I can’t understand why you would want to move an exciting game like that to a 4000 seat “gym’. Olddog I can see your desire to host the game, but given Siena’s large fan base I really don’t see any alternates to the Pepsi. The RACC is simply not an option from a Siena POV
8. Olddog here is the problem, do you think 4000 Siena season ticket holders will give up their seats in the Pepsi? It will never happen Siena would be forced to drop the game before it happens. Albany fans have no season seats in the Pepsi and as long as the venue is big enough to accommodate Albany’s modest fan base what’s the big deal, it appears to me that some Albany fans just want to have a vendetta to remove Siena season ticket holders from their season seats, that’s all you accomplish by making Albany the home team. I belive Albany gets to keep all the revenue from tickets they sell, so its not like Albany isn't making any money off the game Since the Pepsi serves as Siena’s home court no way Siena will ever ( nor should they) play a game at the Pepsi where they are not the home team. If Albany makes unrealistic demands they will be the ones canceling the series simple as that. I repeat Siena will never be the visiting team as long as the Pepsi arena is our home court. Albany gets as much or more out of the Siena/Alb game as Siena does so if Albany cancels the game by making unrealistic demands they will be cutting off their nose to spite their face.
9. Wow you sound so bitter 72. What’s the big deal playing in the Pepsi? It gives a smaller AE program like Albany tremendous exposure playing in Albany in front of a big crowd. And lets remember 75% of the fans at a Siena /Ualb game are Siena fans And yea you’re right if Albany can win some games ( gonna be tough for Albany to win this year) and can get its attendance up double or triple what it is now, then you’ll have something to complain about, until then all I can say is “don’t get bitter…. Get better”
10. UAlb as the home team at the Pepsi will never happen.. The Pepsi arena is Siena’s home court, so other than letting Ualb wear home whites, Siena will always be the home team The Pepsi is the only venue in the capital district big enough to handle the crowd for any game that Siena is part of. Siena would never agree ( and rightfully so) to any local venue that could not accommodate Siena’s vast fan base. Why would you want to have a game where it couldn’t accommodate the crowd? No personally I hope the game continues beyond the current contract (since Siena has won 3 of the first 4 ) and will be a strong favorite to make it 4 out of 5 next year.
11. Patchy are you a little testy today? Is it that time of the month for you? Its all in good fun, some of you take this stuff way too seriously, its college basketball not life or death. As for your post, I hope Haddix is healthy also, but keep in mind we already beat you without Haddix. As for condescending? Where was I condescending? Ask your coach who will be favored next season? And as I have stated many times in a rivalry game anything can happen, but for Albany to win, the Danes will have to play very well, Siena is a better team on paper ( and yea I know the games are not won on paper) Siena will be favored going into the game , well if you consider that condescending, perhaps you have other “issues” And Oh yea.. you enjoy the off season too Patch!!! hugs and kisses Tony!!
12. Sorry Dane.. my apologies.. I thought I may have heard it before.. Good analogy, perhaps Albany has arrived since you now have your own "MTS"
13. Bosiydid, you are like MTS, don't get so mad, it was on the smack board where I busted your stones, not the main board... didn't you read the board, not for the faint of heart ;-) As for the game lets see: Lets see Albany loses 87 min( out of 225) from that game, 22 of your 47 rebounds, 42 of your 74 points, and yet you still think Albany will be as good? As for Siena you guys have a very short memory, Kojo Mensah was by far the best player on the floor that day, Albany had no answer for him. Unless you recruited a athletic point guard you’re gonna have the same problem Jamar Wilson is a great player and all Siena can hope for is to contain him similar to last year where Jamar got his 20 points but had to take 21 shots to get his points. Siena will miss Scoop Jordan for sure, but we have everyone back but him from that team that BEAT you last year. Add a better rebounder and a sorely needed big man in Haddix. And Siena has the makings of a very solid ball club. If you can’t see that then you don’t know much about college basketball Albany has a lot of question marks next season, you don’t lose 3 players the caliber of Jordan , Zoelner and Levine and not skip a beat. I don’t think Albany will fall off the face of the map, after all any team that has Jamar is a threat to win but in all likely hood Albany will not be as good as last year (although it is possible you are) I can’t see you any better though Siena will much.. much better than last year. If you think not ask your coach he’ll tell you. And again I’m not saying Albany can’t win, only that Siena will deservedly be favored in the game. Jamar is as good as its gets at the AE level, after that I’m not overly impressed with Albany’s talent. That’s not meant as a knock, as most of those guys are very good AE level players
14. bosiydid are you related to MTS? You guys sound an awful lot alike. I think we should put the two of you in a steel cage before next season’s game and have a death match between the two of you ;-) As for Haddix, If David West ( Xavier all American) and Ryan Gomes ( Providence All American) couldn’t stop him, I highly doubt Albany’s bigs will stop him. The goal with Haddix is to contain him; you’re not going to stop him period The game is 7 months away. In a rivalry game anything can happen, but make no mistake about Siena will be favored in this game, perhaps by as many as 7 to 10 points. Albany can win the game, but they will have their hands full. Albany has a few question marks, you lose 3 pretty solid players in Jordan, ( my favorite Dane in Levine) and Zolener. Siena returns 4 double digit scorers and add a ALL MAAC center in Haddix, we also have the top rated incoming class in the MAAC, highlighted by top 100 ( per hoopscoop) recruit Edwin Ubiles I fully expect Siena to be a top 100 team next season, so if Albany wins it will be a good win for you guys Fire away boys ;-)
15. Hell no!!! I have been chuckling all morning while reading the Siena board. I thought they turned a corner with all of their praise this week re: UA, and then I read the Duell threads. Soon, the story will be that Duell transferred because he wanted better competition and playing against weak ass post players like B. Wilson just wasnt going to help his NBA aspirations. Then it will go something like "Please, even if the AD's signed off on Duell sitting out for a year instead of two, Duell would never go to UA. What has UA done, won one Conference title. Big deal, the AE was weak this year. Fantastic, boast you are the best team from a Conference whose RPI is 34." D96 or Bob87 replying: "Hey, morons, get your facts straight, we have a 119 RPI and a conference rating of 27. So what, the conference had a down year...but you cant deny that UA and Brown are on the way up. Dont let those facts dampen your argument." Gorvy replies: "GO KILL YOURSELF, LOSERS. Albany coudlnt beat Lansingburgh's girls team. Mari Warner would give you the game plan and you'd still lose. SIENA IS THE GREATEST. WE DESTROYED YOU AT THE PEPSI...and we were having a down year. We OWN YOU!" Patch replies: "OWNED...you guys beat us in OT. Plus, look at all the solid recruits coming in the AE." SienaARCtech replies: "TONY, ban Patch...he is stating fact...I dont like it, and my skirt is too tight. TONY Replies: "I refer you all to the top of the message board. Remember, unless you can find my 20k bucks, I will ban you if you say anything to the contrary of "SIENA and G-D have a close relationship. We are the best. DUELL is going to light up UA like Gallup did to us." Gotta question the degree from Loudonville C.C. Disclaimer: All events are fictional, however names are real. Though fictional, the author best tried to incapsulate (sp?) the attitude of the masses. Josh Duell, though represented here in a light to further the author's disdain for certain fans, is a fantastic Capital District product. 13106 Actually a pretty funny post As far as Josh Duell goes, I don’t think any Siena fans are under any illusions that Josh will be some sort of ALL MAAC player, but he does have some size and can shoot, he should be a solid role player for Siena ( if he comes to Siena) I’m kind of surprised he didn’t choose Albany, at your level you would have got more minutes, probably the two year waiting period, or maybe he just likes the Pepsi
16. Great win, great season!!! Enjoy the dance boys! ( and girls;-)
17. Patchy why so bitter? I never said Albany wasn't building a program? I have the utmost respect for the Albany program and wish it nothing but the best, and I have never thought otherwise. In fact in searching for Siena's bracket buster opponent I came across the link that said Albany would have a TV game. All I did was come to this board and post the link. This is mid major basketball, some of you Albany whacks need to take a chill pill, All I’ve been is attacked by those of you too weak minded to put together a logical post. I'll be at my seat at the Pepsi tonight watching Siena take on yet another top 100 league foe... enjoy your bracket buster game!!!
18. Ok Patchy Girl I'll school you once again Manhattan has a RPI of 59, they could go .500 the rest of the season and still have an RPI inside the top 100… I think they have a pretty decent shot at the NIT don't you? Marist is playing well with a 12 and 6 record and RPI of 98 they plus a marquee win over St john’s, barring a collapse Marist has to be considered a very attractive NIT candidate . And to correct you Patchy I said at least two maybe 3, the third team would be either Loyola or SPC although both would have to have a good last third of the season and once again I’ll mention almost everyone Marist, Loyola, SPC plays are top 200 teams, you don’t have the RPI drag you have in the AE. Where you have 7 teams rated over 200 and a unbelievable 5 teams over a 250 RPI. And O yea I told you Albany guys after Siena beat you that Ualb would be fine once you started playing teams down at your level..looks like I was right there also Was that slow enough for you to understand patch?
19. You know it has gotten bad as a fan when you don't even argue for your team anymore, now you just compare the conference because your team is not the best in the conference...as I believe ours is!!! Also, please don't use an argument relating to the "Not Important Tournament", congratualtions to the MAAC for getting two seeds into a tournement that no one cares about, meanwhile our Danes are right in the hunt for a ticket to the real dance, not the JV dance. 11437 You re kidding right, Siena has come back from the pits and you say things have gotten bad? I couldn’t be happier, add in the fact Siena should be a post season team next season and I’m ecstatic As for the NIT... Considering Albany has never been to post season... opps make that never even had a winning record I guess you wouldn’t understand the NIT. And it wasn't me comparing the conferences it was one of your astute posters on this board. As for the rest of your smack post….. I guess that’s just sour grapes from the loss you received at the Pepsi or maybe its insecurity since Albany hasn’t beaten anyone this year with a RPI under 189 and 9 of your wins are over teams among the bottom 75 teams in all of Division one.
20. Ummm...these are last years games. 11438 How does Vermont get a TV game and not Albany?????????????
21. Guess it wasn’t that predictable since you didn’t get it… guess the truth is hard to accept sometimes for you Dane fans ;-) As for what difference does a 1 bid conference make, well first off a 12 or 13 seed wins a NCAA game almost every year, a 15 seldom does and 16 never does. Basically as a 15 or 16 seed is fodder for a top 10 team.. and hey don’t get me wrong, I think its great just to make the NCAA’s…. the other nice thing about A better conference RPI is the NIT, the MAAC will get at least 2 teams maybe 3 teams into the NIT, not to mention because the MAAC RPI is better if Iona ( current RPI 45) gets upset they not only would be a lock for the NIT they stand a decent chance of getting an NCAA at large. If Albany loses in the AE tournament your season is over..No at large and definitely no NIT, in fact no AE team will even sniff the NIT
22. What’s your point that Albany is a better team..ummmmmm no I don’t think so
23. Not sure who your opponet is, but it looks like Albany got a TV game..congrats guys http://www.pjstar.com/stories/013006/DAV_B8RE7L8L.071.shtml
24. Hey State fan thanks for the vote of confidence ( you know agreeing with me) I do know a little about basketball, and I certainly wasn’t busting Albany fans chops on the booing. Had a buddy at the game and he told me about the booing . Anyway congrats on the win tonight guys. I have to get up to the RACC and see a game , I have to check my schedule maybe I can make the BU and Vermont games
