  1. Lockerroom is 12 years old now. Definitely time for an upgrade. I think an endzone facility with lockrerroms, meeting rooms, academic support and training facilities is in the mix for Phase II.
  2. They are. If you add in the sq. ft of those boards (6' x 11' each), it brings us up to 949 sq. ft. which moves us up to 7th nationally. That's bigger than a NYC apartment I had a whole house in NJ that was smaller (3 br cape....$400 a sq. ft.)

  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_college_football_stadium_video_boards Our main video board is 38' x 21.5' which equals 817sq ft. That puts us at #8 in the country for FCS teams. If anyone feels up to it, feel free to edit the Wiki page.
  5. I'm thinking the lower level will look much different with the yellow seats and accent banners, etc. Too much color can be overwhelming. As far as the top panel on the scoreboard, I agree. Plain and borng. I'm hoping, however, that it is merely a placeholder for the company that wins the corporate naming rights.
  6. There's a ton of ad space all around the stadium too. Scoreboard ads tend to be more consumer driven (car dealerships, medical groups, restaurants). Something like Dunkin Donuts maybe.
  7. This is the key, IMO. Everyone else stood still waiting for a permanent president. He didn't and I'm sure it was a headache for him and pissed a lot of other people off at the same time. Nothing against him for doing so. he's a visionary. No way to avoid that.
  8. Agreed. Smallbany attitude needs to go away inside the athletic department and its supporters (including some on this board) before anyone outside will ever give us a real look.
  9. And there you go.....now you know why there's a rift:
  10. I wonder what we're counting up until? Dane Pount - how about to the opening of BFF?
  11. I just listened to the webcast. I like the tone. There is a long way to go before we get everyone to buy into Phase II. It does tell us though that they really did put the infratsructure in place ot build out to the full 25,000+. That is key. That makes it such an easier sell.
  12. Hate to be debbie downer here, but this has "$60m Project 2010" written all over it. We won't need 27,000 seats for 10 years. We will need 15,000 seats sooner. Why not add 6,000 in Phase II for $10m?
  13. I believe it will have bleachers from the 30 yd line to the end of each section. I don't think you'll see much of that concrete when all is said and done.
  14. He's talking 9000, there must have been some changes to the visitors bleachers. Or they just think more room on the berm. And this is very promising news that they are thinking bigger. I'm hoping they follow through and do it safely - meaning in stages. Let's not go through another 10 years of passing up $5m per year to only get $20m in 10. Who cares if it takes 15 Phases or 2 to get to the same end point in the same time period.
  15. Beer will be available in the suites, but I'm not sure about in the stadium. As far as food options, there is a new food service provider (sodexo) so its tough to say what will be available. I assume normal stadium fare (hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, etc.).
  16. Delaware is mostly bench seats; they rent clip-on seatbacks to those who don't bring their own - another possible revenue source. Great idea. I hope they do that!
  17. By the way, I've been told by Brian Rudolph that you can bring clip on seat backs. Problem solved.
  18. Swanky comes from the Smallbany mentality. It's a prerequisite to work at the TU.
  19. There's your answer. $20m to get to 25,000. The beauty of modular build. I have to imagine $5-7m for permanent visitors side seating.
  20. http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/blog/2013/06/ualbany-football-stadium-construction.html Adam Sichko might get the implication of this morese than anyone else. This is big business.
  21. That's going to look cool when its finished. I'm also very clas they went with "Albany" and not "UAlbany" SoCal Dane got through!
