  2. If those gold seats are unsold, they have to sell them on a single game basis. There just isn't enough seats to hold them out for season tickets only. The single game price won't be cheap though.
  3. http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/blog/2013/06/ticket-sales-soar-for-new-ualbany.html Long way to go, but football season ticket sales have already doubled despite huge jumps in price, not to mention 3 boxes were sold at $150k licenses each.
  4. Just to be clear - that's what I think Phase II could look like. No one has ever confirmed that, nor do I think they know.
  5. I believe he wanted to see future phases...perhaps I'm wrong... Well, the first phase is not that far off from the original concept drawing. I'd say this may be very close to what Phase 2 could look like. Lower bowl finished to the visitors side. Academic/Athletic building in the South endzone. Additional level on the press/luxury box. Phase 5 or 6 (finished)
  6. Openings - I suspect that those will be windows that can be opened by the people in those suites and they'll go in last and be mounted from the inside. That a pure guess though. The rest of the windows cannot be opened. Awning style windows will go in those locations. Awning windows going in today. Hopefully that means we're getting that much closer to the upper deck going on. It also looks like they've made significant progress on the scoreboard footings. Hard to see though as the light pole is in the way and the picture isn't that great when you zoom in that far.
  7. I found an IPad/phone app for the stadium webcam for anyone running on IOS. Workzonecam in the App store. The domain is uamultisportstadium.workzonecam.com.
  8. Well...umm...'aint that something...I guess this is what it looks like to step up to the CAA... Last year 4 teams tied for 1st. With our relatively easy OOC schedule, we could go .500 in conference and still make the playoffs. 24 teams in the playoffs this year. The CAA could definitely get 5 teams in.
  9. Sporting News picks us to finish 8th in the CAA 2013 CAA FOOTBALL PREDICTED ORDER OF FINISH 1. Villanova*! 2. Towson* 3. Richmond* 4. Stony Brook 5. New Hampshire* 6. James Madison 7. Maine 8. UAlbany 9. Delaware 10. William and Mary 11. Rhode Island http://caafootball.wordpress.com/2013/05/30/let-the-preseason-projections-begin/

  11. It also looks like they have started work on the scoreboard in the South endzone. That will be awesome to watch go up.
  12. The big mystery. It looks like they poured footers for something - could be for the fence or for the bleachers themselves. My guess is something that looks like this, whcih is 2500 seats.
  13. Why would the Central game be a sellout? 2nd home game and we should be 3-0 and ranked. "holy cow man, did you go to the game last week? It's a real stadium and real football!" Plus it's the first home game wih students on campus. The 14th is a Jewish holiday. Got it. Do you think we'll get some preseason votes for top 25? We'll be outside the Top 25, but we should get some votes.
  14. The stadium atmosphere will draw a lot of students in. You can't ignore 8,000 people 200 yards away from Indian Quad

  16. I will be disappointed if we don't sell ot 3 games next year. URI and Towson plus CCSU.
  17. Yet another reason I really hope we are considering this: http://colonialacademicalliance.org/?DB_OEM_ID=8500
  18. I don't think it's unfair to say that the CAA is better than AEast in every sport. Especially in the ones that really matter to UA - basketball and lacrosse. Not to mention a national TV deal with NBC Sports and a wider footprint to expand our brand name (no matter how bad it is). and you don't get higher without stepping stones. The CAA and A10 are the feeder leagues for the Northeast big time conferences. Look at expansion. A10/CUSA pull from CAA -->. CAA pulls from SoCon/AEast --> AEast pulls from D2. What are those Northeast "big time" conferences???? For a school like us, CUSA, MAC, AAC would be the ultimate top level. Maybe not Northeast, but you know what I mean Jeff.

  20. These total denial articles are laughable. http://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/UAlbany-planning-to-stay-in-league-4544844.php
  21. There's always the chance the CAA will cover the buyout. They have a surplus of NCAA money from VCU's a final four run ey could use. VCU forfeited that $ when thy left.
  22. I feel the same way. And about several of the schools in the CAA. Question: Did we receive a formal invitation to join the the CAA, or is this just blog talk? The way these things have worked is that you only get a formal invite if you agree to accept.
