  1. $800k a year is peanuts compared to what he would make in private industry.
  2. The scoreboard will be approximately 52ft tall when complete. The discussion would be pretty boring if you weren't here to correct/inform us. Thanks I'm not sure I've ever been so dependant on a time lapse camera before.
  3. If you run a site line all the way from the top of the scoreboard to the stadium, it appears the top is just about even with the top fo the upper deck. If I'm reading the design plans correctly, the top of the upper deck is about 45 feet high from field level. That makes your measurement right about accurate. 40+ feet high.
  4. Not very high on my personal priority list but...umm...ok...lol Think about the number of people who will be exposed to the stadium for the first time during graduation and will want to return for a game.
  5. Besides football, think about how much better the graduation ceremony is going to be.
  6. Wow...seriously...maybe that will be lowered some...if not man that is a monster! The one beam is mounted so it appears it will be that tall afterall. Wow.
  7. Looks like large pieces of steal and by the location they're dropping them, I assume they are scoreboard related
  8. A lot of activity down near the scoreboard today. A truck with a large item being delivered. No clue what it is though.
  9. Good to get a dry run on the stadium before the Rhode Island game. We all know how well the new Danzne worked last year. They've got a state of the art media board to work now.
  10. The concrete cylinders are the light pole bases. The supports for the scoreboard are structural steel and won't get started for at least a couple of weeks. What light poles? Around the venue? I thought from the design pictures that the scoreboard would be round pillar supports. Yes. No. Got it thanks.
  11. Purple turf down the players ramp as well. It really interesting to see how they piece the upper deck together.
  12. There's two philosophies on home games being televised: 1. Its great exposure and if the atmosphere is great it will get more people out to the game. 2. Its better to not televise home games so it forces people to attend in person. I think its a fine line. Televise the opener and focus the TV attention on getting some of the away games on so people who don't travel don't have to listen to homer opponent announcers over a web feed.
  13. If I remember correctly, there are various types of fencing, but I think the chainlink all called for decorative logo screening to go over them. Which makes a whole lot of sense not only from a design but also to make sure people can't stand on the outside and watch a game without buying a ticket.

  15. University Field is going to be amazing with very little investment, relatively speaking. It's still amazing that it wasn't done 10 years ago. It looks like they ripped out the old bleachers on the PE steps. Did I see that correctly? Stadium looks great too. Those white cylindrical pieces are the supports for the scoreboard. That is going o look huge when it owes up. Thanks Haggy, as always.
  16. The last 10% of a job takes the longest. Tons of finish work in a project this large.
  17. Definitely looks like some kind of seating. I wonder if it's part of the upper deck.
  18. I was just guessing. Wasn't in front of the webcam. I thought the seats backs were suppposed to be yellow though.
  19. BTW - just to reiterate what this means......we have a company that has agreed to purchase the naming rights. Just the like the stadium, a RFP doesn't go out on something like this until you know what you'll get in return. This is great news, IMO.
  20. I suspect the high bidder is already probably known. I don't think you put something like this out to bid if you don't know who is going to win. I also suspect that 4th luxury suite is for that company.
