Brian Lillis

Recommended Posts

Lillis seems to be quietly putting things together. If you exclude Hew Hampshire where he was 0 for 0, he is 8 of 9 in his last 3 games and 3 for 3 from the 3 point line.

Also, he played a lot of point against Binghamton last week when Jamar had foul trouble and appeared to do OK.

He certainly doesn't force any shots. He's shooting over 60% from the field.

We've talked about his defense all year long. He was the player guest of Wyland's show this week and said he was never really known for his defense. He said he just tries to give the team whatever they need in a particular game. I don't know how many freshman you'll hear making that statement.

I know I'm not the only Lillis fan. There are times where I'd like him to be a little more selfish in getting his shot but he certainly knows how to take care of the ball. He and Levi are the only two regular players with a positive assist to turnover ratio.

What was Lillis known for at the H.S. level. Was he a shooter? We/ve had a couple of glimpses of him as a slasher. Interesting to know if he could knock down the jumper on a relatively consistent basis. At 6'5" with good leaping and ballhandling ability, excellent defense, if he can shoot on a consistent basis what a tough matchup he becomes in the America East.

Added fun for Coach Brown to find minutes next year with Iati back. Wilson, Jordan, Iati and Lillis.

The added fun was suppose to be this year but Iati's surgery and Lillis's broken wrist have taken some of the fun away.

I think we know we have a great shooter in Iati and I believe Lillis is a much better offensively then we've seen from him. Next year we will have the opportunity with Iati and Lillis to get Jamar off the ball and get Jamar and LU out in transition a little more.
