Ok so its not Pete Gillen. But come on, no banter about this hire on the board?

I'm going in the other room to continue my month-long laugh at everyone who thought Pete Gillen was a viable candidate at Siena.

When will you people learn!

You could not get a more mediocre candidate than the head coach of another unknown in UNC-G.

I agree. Somewhat amusing that the original list included Gillen and Daugherty. Guys with Big East and ACC resumes.

Hey, this guy does have an over .500 winning percentage overall. Without knowing the details (as our coach has a pretty tough record over the last three years) I hate to say this but his record the last three years: 36-51, a .413 winning percentage.

Good luck to Siena, I'm one of those guys that (especially with the Albany program on the rise) roots for them when they are not playing Albany or other AE teams. I just don't see this as a move forward for the program.

Phil Jackson and Dean Smith may still come as assists...

But seriously, after all the hype he seems like a "safe" choice. Previous experience with a winning if unspectacular record. He was a hot commodity a couple of years ago when he was a finalist at UMass and I think Villanova after his tourney runs and then cooled down.

Looking at his record in the paper I think Siena fans would have been calling for his head after his 7-22 and 11-17 seasons.
