FYI this link contains information on some of the sanctions being faced by LEAP due to its "conscious attempt to gain an improper athletic advantage." Lance James is mentioned as an example of LEAP's aggressive approach.

Despite them using James as an example this doesn't seem to reflect on him. More that the academy exceeded it's role as a charter school in getting out-of-state basketball players to come there. From the article someone posted about him he seems like a good student as well as an excellent player.

Clearly, I don't think anyone should cheat, but I bet that most of the elite basketball programs in NYC cannot claim that 81% of their kids come from their school districts (especially the Catholic Schools)

You dont have to be in your district in NYC to attend a CHSAA school.

I realize that Lance James may not have done anything wrong, but it is always discouraging when these types of events occur. My fear is that the administration will react harshly, but McElroy does appear to have more faith in Will Brown and his staff (and deservedly so.)
