Pipikis injured

Recommended Posts

Janis Pipikis was on crutches at UMass. He fell and injured an MCL at practice Saturday. Supposed to have an MRI Monday, the same day as Jamar's surgery.

Still no Hughes sighting.

Danes fell behind 21-5 , basically played UMass even the rest of the way, never behind by more than 19, cut it to 5 in the first half, no closer than 11 in the second half.

Albany women beat FIU, play Pepperdine tomorrow at 7:00 for the Fun 'n Sun title.

From what I was able to hear on the radio it didn't sound like a bad effort. Especially even shorter-handed than usual. If the stats on the UA site are correct the Danes actually out-rebounded UMass 34-33 thanks in part to a suberb game by Q. Sounded like Iati did a nice job of creating for others.

Two questions for those there:

Did anyone take the bus?

Was there actually only 2500 people there? I realize we're not a huge draw but that is pretty sad for an A-10 team.

they were scattered, but there may have been 2500 on hand ... holiday break for students coupled with a small, local community ... comfortable arena ... nice job by the university with the bus trip ... great effort PL ... enjoyment of the game was made easy ... hope to see similar trips in the future (even if a small fee were required) ... danes got off to a slow start again, but then played respectable ball the rest of the way ... impressive effort by schenectady product rashaun freeman ... hope for a strong turnout for the wagner game (even if many wind up being siena fans to see deane)

It's a shame Pipikis went done, he was playing inspired basketball. I would expect him to be out a minimum of 2 weeks if the trainers diagnosis ( a sprained MCL) is correct.

For some reason I don't have much faith in our training staff.

Sooner or later Martin and/or Knotts are going to have to produce some solid minutes. Between the 2 of them 33 minutes 4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 TOs.

Bench scoring UMass 30pts 7 rebs - UA 7pts - 4 rebs

Thanks for the photos Dane2K3
