ECAC Bowl cancelled

Article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04028/266484.stm on Duquesne's future. Possibly because MAAC, without enough teams to be a recognized league, cannot be part of post-season play.

 

Love how Siena (0-11) is to be replaced by 'traditional Patriot League power Holy Cross' without mentioning HC was 1-11 last year and 9-27 over the last three.

what does this mean??? We play for the Northeast Championship, and then thats it? I hope we can get a small bowl game against someone. What i think the Northeast should do is take 1-2 of the MACC teams if they dissolve and get them into the conference. Create a super mid-major conference with two divisions, 5 teams each with each division champ playing in a nutral site or split between the divisions for the Conference title.

 

If we can get this done like what the Patriot League has, i think big bucks can come into Albany and all Northeast members.

I think we should replace the ECAC bowl with a bowl game against the Pioneer League. For the most part they are much more competetive than the MAAC teams have been and would be a terrific game.

I noticed that Duquesne is so pissed at Siena for dropping football and costing it a post season opportunity that it cancelled its basketball series with Siena.
