Good story on the West brothers squaring off for the first time.

That being said....this is a MIDWEEK STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is the game preview? Who is Stony Brook, who have they played? Who are the top players. Why aren\'t they in the NEC anymore....I know these answers but those are topics that a gameday football story should cover!

This is what Singleas writes about all the time......

Montana - Sampson Brown story.

Hofstra - Coach Ford and Coach Cohen story

etc, etc, etc.....

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

NY Newsday Picks Stony Brook

Stony Brook University (3-2) at Albany (1-3)

Tomorrow, 4 p.m.

Radio: WLIR (107.1 FM)

The matchup: Stony Brook wasn't quite devastated after its comeback against Hofstra fell short last week, but it was a game players believed they should have won. There were good signs, primarily shutting down Hofstra's running game in the second half and receiver Lynell Suggs catching 10 passes for 132 yards.

The lowdown: Albany leads the all-time series 8-4, though Stony Brook has won the last two meetings, 33-21 and 7-3. This game likely will be tougher than it looks on paper and if the Seawolves are still stuck on last weekend, they could get clipped. One characteristic of coach Chuck Priore's two-year tenure, however, has been the ability, win or lose, to move on.

The pick: Stony Brook

I'm not expecting that now, but this cannot be our future without support from the TU?

One thing in the T-U that was news to me, at least:

"as of now, UAlbany (1-3) and Stony Brook (3-2) aren't scheduled to play each other for the next three seasons."

WHAT???? THat is huge news to me as I spit my "I HATE THAT I AM AT WORK" coffee out.

I hope that is not true. If so..F STONY BROOK.

that is pretty big...stony brook I consider our biggest rival, if not equal to the rivalry with Monmouth, when it comes to football

THERE IS NO OTHER RIVAL- STONY BROOK...period end of story. NOTHING...comes close since the UNION series ended years ago.

The fact that Chuck is an Albany man....and Ford is still here...makes this ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING AND RIDICULOUS!

Danefan, why don't you forward these links to the sports editor of the TU. This is the kind of coverage we're looking for. Regardless of our facilities, we are the big dogs in football for the capital district. I appreciate the effort on finding the stories.
