TU beat writer?

Is Singelais now the Siena beat writer? Nothing on his UA blog in almost a week but a pretty good sized article on Downey's commitment to Siena in today's TU?

 

Anyone know what's going on?

Times Useless is a Siena rag.....It was hilarious when the Saints won the MAAC tourney, the TU gave them these mock newspaper pages with a huge headline "Saints are Dancing". It was the MAAC championship, what a bunch of jokers. It wasn't exactly Florida winning the BCS Championship.

 

Apparently the TU had to pull Mark to write the Downy story because their regular beat writer Iorizzo was to busy covering the lacrosse tourney (in which Siena is not participating) or how the womans golf team has managed to win EIGHT straight MAAC championships never mind the fact that there are only TWO MAAC teams competing for that monumental achievement.

 

In all seriousness.....Pete was probably on vacation or something, so someone had to write the story.

Today's academic article was written by a staff writer, why not the same for the Downey signing? Singelais could be writing about the APR for UA.

But we were not bragging about winning EIGHT championships. Needless to say, that conversation came to a screeching halt on their board when the original poster was appraised of the fact that there are only two teams competing. I thought it was funny, can't a guy live a little ?

Apart from the mock newspaper pages apparently distributed to students, etc., and without micro-analyzing the TU's coverage of Siena vs. Albany --- isn't it true that the TU had pretty much the same type of front page when UAlbany beat Vermont in Albany to go to the NCAA Tournament? I have the paper at home, and I recall seeing a picture of a celebrating Siggers on the front page. No?

Don't you think that the mock papers is a big statement by the TU on the lack of balance in coverage.

 

A good front page when UA goes to the dance does not offset poor coverage provided by the TU on a regular basis.

 

Just look at today's coverage for an example. Singelais covering LCC and the lousy headline "UAlbany, Siena avoid academic penalties"
