Jayson Guerrier!

Recommended Posts

Spring signings are up on the athletic webpage and include Jayson Guerrier, a 6'4 JUCO guard/forward. He shot over %50 from three and over 58% from the field in Juco after transferring from South Alabama.

Shooting 50% from 3 at a DI JUCO is relatively a good sign of his shooting ability especially considering he was POY (not just a role player) in his Division of his Conferemence and an Honorable Mention JUCO DI ALL American (3 teams of 10 and then 20 HMs)

What's real interesting is he shot 58% overall. He's a real efficient scorer

Honestly, both had some really bad injuries that flat out effect the shooters ability to do his thing (Allen back, Barazza stomach). Those are your "core", without them you are not going to be that good at this level.

Agree though, let's see how it plays out. But, what I do like about this kid is his shooting form. Really, really solid...and very good catch and shooter it seems.

One of the biggest weaknesses UA has ahd the last few years has been consistent perimeter shooting.

Of the last 3 shooters recruited all wound up with major injuries.

Allen was suppose to be a shooter but became a totally different player after major back surgery, Barazza came in as a pure shooter and showed signs but his time hear was also marred by injury (career ending) and illness. Logan Aronhalt came in and immediately was limited by two foot surgeries but showed a big improvement this year.

Next year could be Logan's first totally healthy year and if that happens we will have a real good three point shooter, Mike Black showed a solid 3 point stroke (40%) and if Guerrier can shoot above 40% we could reak havoc on zone defenses and off dribble drive penetration.

But at this time it is all speculation.

I am more interested in the improvement of Puk & Metcalf and I want to see what Rowley brings to the table.
