A note in Maguire's blog today:

"12. So how has UAlbany football dominated the NEC this year? Here’s a hint: The Great Danes are tied for 9th in all the FCS in red zone efficiency. "

Though you have to wonder about the worth of this stat when top ten teams Maine, Sam Houston St., and Appalachian St. are all tied at 80th with Jacksonville, and top ten Lehigh is 47th, but CCSU is 38th.

Do we clinch at least a share of the NEC title with a win over Bryant?

can't clinch until Monmouth - Duquesne has a bye, this week

Including this week we have 3 more conference games and Dukes have 2

Dukes can still finish with just the loss to UA

UA controls own destiny by winning at least 2 of last 3

Week 11: Bryant eliminated.

Albany defeats Monmouth 41-24. Albany goes to (6-1 NEC). Sacred Heart is in play with Duquesne; Bryant with St. Francis.

If Duquesne loses, both Bryant and Duquesne are eliminated and Albany wins the NEC. (Bryant can't win the auto qualifier.)

If Duquesne wins, the worst they can finish is 6-2, and the best Brynat can finish is 6-2, but by virtue of the tiebreak (Duquesne getting the win over Bryant earlier in the year), Bryant is eliminated.

Duquesne beats Sacred Heart, eliminating the possibility of Bryant winning the league, but not getting the AQ.

Confusing provisions, but the title is down to two teams: UAlbany and Duquesne.

Duquesne loses: UAlbany takes the league.

UA wins, UA takes the league: (UA owns the AQ on a tiebreaker by beating Duquesne earlier in the year.)

UA loses, Duquesne wins: Duquesne takes the league and the AQ.
